About this deal

Osa25: I'm not denying the existence—I'm simply making a point that while it's obviously designed to be wireless a vast majority of the time for most people, there are absolutely use cases where a completely wireless workflow is impossible as things stand. I have a setup with the Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad + a generic 20 dollar ipad stand similar to the OMOTON T2 / Anozer Ipad stand etc. no real video editing software (only dumbed down premiere, no avid, no media encoder, no Davinci resolve, no Mocca, no After Effects, no real final cut I think? Is the extra optical oomph worth the upgrade over the iPhone 15 Pro’s 3x (77mm equivalent) telephoto? The problem is, you need to prop your iPad up to use a Bluetooth keyboard, and the height and angle provided by a regular folio case is rarely optimal.

This duo works perfectly for charging a phone and a set of wireless headphones as you do your work and proved to save space on my desk compared to using separate, dedicated chargers for my iPhone and AirPods. Any keyboard will work with StudioDock, we highly recommend a keyboard that supports iOS, which will allow full use of your shortcut keys. and AirPod charging (up to 5W), as well as optional charging for Apple Watch up to 5W (K34032WW, sold separately). You don’t have to carry it around if you don’t need it — a problem with Apple’s excellent Magic Keyboard — and the typing experience is often much improved, ready to make good use of the iPad’s now undeniable productivity skills. Third-party apps could potentially be used so the iPad could be used as a second screen, but this is not standard functionality in iOS 14. You can opt-out of non-essential cookies any time using the Your Privacy Choices button in the footer. Very sturdy but portable, flexible, great charging ports, good for the pencil charging and easy to use. However, drawing on the iPad and then being able to see your artwork on a bigger screen when hooked up to a monitor may suit artists well.

Apple ecosystem charging includes Qi wireless iPhone and AirPod charging, as well as optional charging for Apple Watch (K34032WW, sold separately) and the iPad itself.Overall, the StudioDock is a fantastic addition to the iPad for those willing to spend a pretty penny on a hub for your Apple ecosystem. I was very disappointed with this item because just within one month of purchasing the holder for the iPad was coming off from the back of it and I sent it back, I received a full refund back to me. I'm not hating on this product, but this almost sounds like K built an accessory for a product that has limited use in a work environment. I understand you will use my personal data to improve services and send me marketing communications.

I have 100mbit internet - dropbox downloads new files always with 12mb/s which is the perfect speed. If you’re a homebody, and expect the iPad Pro to stay mostly in one place inside your home, the StudioDock and a Bluetooth keyboard will be a better bet than the Magic Keyboard. On the side is an SD card slot, which easily recognized various SD and MicroSD cards (in a caddy), allowing the content to be accessed using the iPad’s Files app. While there is no question that FCPX is coming to the iPad (i am both a FCPX and Resolve user)— there is no question that post-iPadOS 15 desktop-level apps are coming! I’m a fan of its base’s thick, round corners, which offer a platform to place your iPhone and AirPods for wireless charging.

On a PC/macbook you can smart sync all folders you want to, so you have the folder structure and all the thumbnails always available without taking SSD space. I did notice a slight coil whine noise when devices were fully charged — this isn’t all that uncommon with wireless chargers, but not all of them do it, so it’s worth noting that this one does. to the elegantly designed StudioDock in portrait or landscape mode, and the possibilities are endless. Once your iPad is connected with a keyboard and trackpad or mouse hooked up, it’s like having a little desktop computer with a touchscreen — and way more ports than most Mac laptops these days. But seriously, its only good for casual browsing, watching stuff on the go and presenting stuff to my clients. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to look for a USB-C hub for the iPad that offers UHS-II speeds, but they’re simply non-existent in hub-powered devices and not necessarily easy to find on wall-powered hubs either. For photographers in particular, it's nearly impossible to have an entirely wireless workflow when SD cards, external drives, and other peripherals are involved. Let's better appreciate what we have, consider what gives us joy, and get out there to take some photos. Hopefully Apple can improve external monitor support in a future version of iPadOS, but for the time being, the StudioDock makes the most of the support Apple offers.
