I have loved Kate's work since the beginning of her career, and I had quite a lot of her 7-inch singles, and rarer 12-inch singles, and I cherished the B-Sides as much as the Title Tracks.But the feeling you get when watching, reading, or listening to her work makes one realize that she is certainly unique and that her contributions to music and film are actually artistic in a pure sense.

I would love to hear Kate record her version of the Pearls Before Swine song (Rocket Man), that inspired Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s song. Anyone who has even the slightest interest in her should treat themselves to this excellent collection, because it should appeal equally both to the avid fan and also to anyone who just enjoys delicious and intelligent music.

Bob is the author of the Top 100 Canadian Albums, a national best-seller published in 2007, and The Top 100 Canadian Singles, published in September 2010, both from Goose Lane Editions. A lot of these b-side tracks were never published anywhere else, so when I realised they were finally released as a special CD collection, I was relieved to have back so much of what I had lost.It’s so singular and self-contained in its two minutes and 10 seconds, it’s no wonder she released it as a b-side, as it might throw most any album off-course. Previous Fish People releases were marginally better value, but when the collection is a fine and desirable - if imperfect - one any Kate Bush fan should obtain a copy.
