Because while many things are satisfactory in this story, one single element (which to me is important in this type of story), did not receive proper attention. I feel it should’ve been handled that way OR written in a way that the rape was prevented altogether by Tori showing up to save the day just before things escalated. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. As cliche ridden as romance novels are, it is the ability to create relationships between characters that drive these stories and makes Romance the best selling fiction genre; so suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride.
