About this deal

Also, it gives you more control at times when you need it (at the side of a road/with other dogs/near unsavory objects etc) it's softer and loosens up a LOT quicker than a choke chain does (if used correctly of course) and provides more guiding control than a half check.

RECOMMENDED: The Halti Training Leash is a favorite amongst dogs and owners worldwide and has become a must-have for pet parents and trainers. I don’t like using a stick infront of the nose as they know when you don’t carry a stick the rules have possibly changed. They are a bit smaller, but making a figure of 8 with the collar bit you can fashion a Halti out of it if need be. I want to listen to my current trainer, but we live in an apartment his exercise is all our walks (play and sniffing not just walking), I can’t really wait for the amount of time it takes for positive training to work… so I’m torn and have a few questions. If the dog is regularly running through undergrowth, then we would recommend removing the harness altogether. If you actually want to use it to correct him then it needs to be a slip which doesn't stretch when you tug it between your hands, if it does your correction ends up getting down the lead that bit after you want it to. There's more scope for improper fitting and discomfort to the dog with either than with a 'normal' round the neck type lead (I have lost count of the amount of dogs I've seen at game fairs etc with haltis riding up into their eyes ). The award-winning Halti Active Lead lets you enjoy running, hiking and daily walkies with your dog, offering the adaptability of a hands-free ‘round the waist’ option. I think slips are convenient for generally well trained and obedient dogs, I'm not sure I would want to train a dog to heel on one if it had no idea whatsoever (ie. We use slip leads, and very rarely would need to nose loop (it generally means the dog has been put in a position where they have become overwhelmed as the circumstances have exceeded the training or the in-laws have taught them to pull but sometimes needs must).

On top of this, for models manufactured in 2021 onwards, we have implemented a design change where the back connection strap can be secured with a purpose-made loop of fabric. I only use one for jinja because she has no neck and wont keep a collar on when there is a lead attached. Perhaps she sells the 'special' halter but it had exactly the same fit/effect as using a slip lead - if she had taken the trouble to position it correctly!

The material is soft so doesn’t hurt my hand and the flat design is better for my dog noses doesn’t leave any marks! sorry for the bad explanation, one thing i thought was one is not supposed to use that config for too long?
