Armies must travel hundreds of miles with little indication of when or even how they might be getting home. The soldiers are equipped by each province or city from its own armouries and therefore the quality and condition of the weapns and equipment can vary greatly. Other favoured weapons include handguns [1a] [2a] [3a], swords [1a] [2a] [3a], and (in the northern provinces especially) bows [1a] and spears. I don’t think the box of 10 is a problem as such, it’s just that if you want to do an infantry heavy army you’ll pay more as you need a lot of boxes to make the larger/horde units we’re being encouraged to take. If we ignore for a moment the special weapons like the Hoch Long Rifle, the Repeater Gun and the pistols and also ignore the command options, then still there are thirteen guns, and twelve crossbows for ten bodies. The Perry kit makes this easier by having most of weapons integrated with both arms, so you can just slide them on at the shoulders.I know i know, fantasy and all, but if some can use the ol Holy Roman Empire elite troops as examples of "how the empire should look", i can use actual historical reference as well. On the other, the Perry arms are not completely terrible though of course arms designed to join in a two-handed grip suffer from the extra wide torso. There are far more weapons arms in the box than bodies to carry them though, so that is a lot of waste.
