About this deal

No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. He travels the world to learn about the most inspiring animals, from boxing mantis shrimp to charging tigers.

Steve has circumnavigated the globe time and again, venturing into the Sinai desert , completing the Israeli paratroopers selection course, catching anacondas, vipers and cobras and (perhaps the best job ever) making “The Ten Great Dives of the World”, for the long-running series ‘Earthpulse’. Soon he was carrying business cards from National Geographic which described him as their ‘Adventurer in Residence’. The book covers Steve’s travels across six continents in six months as he finds the 60 creatures that are most deadly in their world. Discover the world's most extraordinary creatures in the fifth fact book from BAFTA AWARD-winning, TV Deadly presenter Steve Backshall. If a children's television series results in a high quality, well thought out book that inspires children to read then I am happy with that!Images Donate icon An illustration of a heart shape Donate Ellipses icon An illustration of text ellipses. Outside television, Steve started studying for his biology degree in 2000 with the Open University, attained his diploma in Natural Sciences and has completed one of his finals courses, though is struggling to find time to complete the degree!

Brilliant rich in detail book, about dangerous creatures that live upon our planet, i found this book very interesting, and learnt so much from within its page, this book is perfect for me, to find new characters to places within my own Ocean World science-fiction series. It’s factual and arms the reader with proper facts to avoid them feeling scared of dangerous beasties, instead to respect the diversity and skills of each animal. Children across key stage two can enjoy looking at the pictures in this book, but as the text is reasonably challenging, I would recommend this book for children aged nine upwards. From lethal beauties to killer beasts, from the unseen to the unexpected, the one thing these creatures have in common is that they are all deadly. Another marvellous episode is the first ascent of the Venezuelan sandstone massif, Tepuis, and sleeping out on the rockface for five days. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! Full of the most incredible wildlife, mind-blowing wildernesses, hairy adventures in the jungle, cannibals, nasty bacteria, hilarious camaraderie with other crew members and natives alike, triumph, danger and non-stop excitement, Looking for Adventure is the irresistible and inspiring story of how a little boy from a normal British family went on to become a modern day explorer, with his heart winning out and the adrenalin all-consuming and unrelenting. Separated by blizzards and avalanches, lost in a breathtakingly beautiful but deadly frozen Arctic wilderness, suffering from frostbite and hunger, listening to the wolves howl and the packs draw closer, it seems that this time they cannot possibly live to tell their tale. Steve travels the world to learn about the most inspiring predators, from boxing mantis shrimp to charging tigers. Packed with fascinating facts and drawing on Steve's own amazing experiences, this is the Deadly guide to mammals for St. He illustrates his tips with examples of his own detective work on land and in the water from tropical rainforests to the African Savanna, from the Arctic tundra to the desert.
