Eventually, it was acquired, along with Dufftown Distillery, by blenders Arthur Bell in 1933, but it stayed out of production until 1949 when it was rebuilt. This is part of Diageo's 'Flora and Fauna' series of single malts and one of the few Blair Athol distillery bottlings to be seen. Once the best selling whisky in England, this versatile and underrated single malt whisky from the Blair Athol Distillery has been finished in a Tawny Port cask. Most Blair Athol single malt is used for blending, and it is a dram with good body, fruit and spiciness.

This Blair Athol was distilled in May 2007, maturing for 14 years - including a finishing period in a Madeira hogshead - before being selected by Mossburn Blenders for this addition to their Vintage C .
