You can also adjust the intensity of the pad's rumble on both the left and right sides, and change the brightness of the pad's front-facing LED light. I've stuck with the sticks I like, but I've swapped them once, confirming that the swapping function works pretty well. It’s not a new innovation by any means, but it’s a welcome addition that most headset and wireless mouse makers have come around to as a way to avoid lag. The controller comes with a sturdy nylon carrying case, complete with a mesh pocket for the charging cord and an inlay holding the wireless adapter, four extra joysticks, and a small hex key. I don't have particularly small hands, and yet I found myself wanting to take a short break from the controller after playing for more than an hour or so.

My first impressions were pretty good, the software that comes with the controller from their site had a ton of issues at first but after messing with it for about 2 hours and reinstalling a few drivers I was set to go. The ergonomics were well thought out, and the contours of the grips and the matte black finish on top make playing with it a much superior experience over the standard DualShock. The included charging cable has the right shape to fit snugly, but some of my other MicroUSB cables cannot access the port.UL and UR allowed me to reload weapons and use action buttons without having to reposition my hands. The C40 has the added benefit of letting you remap every other button on the controller, not just the additional ones on the backside of the device.

The ability to use healing items, or any other consumable item, without moving my thumb opened up the possibility to use them in combat. There is absolutely nothing more frustrating to a user than plugging in their new toy and trying to tinker with it only to have to deal with software that barely works. Mappability streamlines the controller for any genre and playstyle while improving response time and accuracy.

Although each product may have minor cosmetic blemishes, we believe that they will live up to the legendary ASTRO Gaming standard of quality. I also tweaked the left analog stick to be more sensitive along its entire curve, letting me bob and weave faster with less tilting.

I could still maneuver around item use animations, without the extra time to reposition my thumb on the direction pad and back to the analog stick.

This isn't a big deal, since the C40 TR features about three to four times the pitiful battery life of the standard PS4 controller.
