I'd say if you're on a budget or you catch a good deal on Al Haramain's stuff, you should pick this up along with Tobacco Edition. My roommate was wearing a Nepali Suruwal he hadn't worn in a while, and when he noticed me sniffing the air he said "Wanna know something funny? Doesn’t take a genius to work out that he made Amber Oud Gold Edition, although this isn’t advertised, not surprising. Because of the additional woods in here, I would say this version is the better pick for men, and the original is a better pick for women.

A burst of citrus unleashes the freshness of Bergamot, seamlessly combining with fruity notes, finally finishing with a flourish on a base of wood and sweet vanilla. In this portion of the composition, there are very small green notes, but they complement beautifully to the fruitiness of the perfume, producing a lovely breathing fruity environment inside the smell. Keeping in tradition with the woody theme of other Amber Oud eau de parfum, this gold edition can only be described as decadence in a bottle.The longevity isn't that long as what people said - on me 3 hours max, projection just ok - not as you can kill people with fragrance. I don’t like spraying stuff with this consistency on my skin and despite the mostly positive review, I don’t see when I would wear it. The reason I sold it was because I sprayed it three times onto my arm and my girlfriend's mother yelled "Why does it smell like rubbing alcohol in here? And its base is the classic Ajmal Perfumes Oriental one with Balsamic, Musky, Oudhy nuances of Gurjun Balsam, Incense, Musk and Oudh.Blended with natural oils and ingredients, this oriental fragrance is an alluring appearance of chic and style. The only con about this perfume is that maybe i got a bad batch or something because it doesn't perform as other reviewers are saying. With perfectly blended ingredients, the scent produced is unmistakable and become a fragrance wardrobe staple.

I don't know if I need to let this macerate, or if I'm just not ready for oud or musk yet, but I am going to let it rest because it smells so unbelievable once you get past that screechy part, and I've witnessed the power (lol) of maceration in the past.

Some may consider it a more masculine fragrance and perhaps it does lean slightly masculine, but that’s exactly why I like it. Very strong and broody, this is well-suited for cold weather with a loud projection, lasts for ages. Its definitely unisex in my opinion and very versatile in terms of day/night and seasons of wearability. The sillage on this is insane I put 2 sprays on and even in the back seat of a can the driver was coughing saying how strong it was. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer.

Unfortunately the Melon seems to only stay for the opening but it’s still a pretty good unique freshie. Some of these houses are just killing it, allowing people who generally don't wanna shell out hundreds for a fragrance, to have it. Smelling them side by side on my wrist at the moment I can definitely tell the differences, but still a good clone. My SO mentioned that it reminds her of "that kind of guy" on nights out who wears excessive amounts of overpowering cologne, and I agree.
