About this deal

The cocotte boasts unrivaled durability that will last a lifetime with proper care. The gorgeous enamelware brings true joy to every proud owner and adds a splash of luxury style to any kitchen. A very rough rule of thumb is to assign about 1 to 1.5 quarts of capacity per person. Yet, of course, this depends entirely on what you are cooking. I’ve compared Dutch ovens with braisers before; in short, while there is a lot of crossover, braisers are ideal for braising meat, or where you need more surface area (eg if making a stew or reducing sauces.)

Example: Cocotte size 23 cm = 9.5 inches, 3.3-quart, 3.8 liters, 15.3 CMS or 6 inches height 4.6 kg or 10.1 pounds in weight and is suitable to feed 3 to 4 people comfortably. These numbers are called pattern letters, and they represent the type of pot or pan to which the lid belongs. Each letter represents a different size of pot or pan, as well as its accompanying lid. If you are worried, you could boil water a few times or slowly heat it in the oven on medium to high heat. How hot can I set my oven? This symbol denotes that the lid is oven safe up to 375°F / 190°C. First of all, these are great pieces of cookware that look fantastic in any kitchen. They’re stylish and the perfect addition for anyone who loves traditional styles. Secondly, they’re very easy to use and are oven safe you can throw them in a 350-degree oven or on your stovetop without having to worry about damaging them at all. You don’t need to have special tools or materials to season them as they are coated in enamel – just some oil and heat! Are there any downsides to Staub products? If you have no idea what to get, I recommend the 26 cm, round, standard height 5.5 quart cocotte. This will easily serve a family of four, and is both a workhorse and an elegant serving dish. Even if you are tempted by others, this makes a good first Staub cocotte. So I could see myself buying one of these if I had money to spare and extra space in my kitchen. At the moment I have neither! Personally, I think they are so close that it ultimately comes to what style you prefer. Just to confuse things even more, sometimes Staub sizes use imperial quarts, instead of US quarts. I have used US quarts in my comparison tables, since hardly anyone actually uses imperial quarts anymore.
