About this deal

Shimizu, Takashi (March 24, 2001), Tomie: Re-birth (Horror), archived from the original on October 6, 2022 , retrieved October 6, 2022 This interpretation, though not off the rails, portrayed Frankenstein’s monster as more menacing and brute which in my opinion was captured well and made sense as it made more impact in graphic format. Personally, I prefer the original one when it came to the monster's character, because the way it was written was such that it was vague whether the monster was a little repentent or he was just cunning, whereas it was clear cut in this graphic format that he was evil through and through. I hope Junji Ito sensei gets a chance to adapt more classic literature like Frankenstein in the future. I wouldn't mind seeing his dark reimaginings with stories that are consisted of classic or vintage themes. Collects: The Face Burglar, Scarecrow, Falling, Red String, Honored Ancestors, and The Hanging Balloons

Frankenstein by Junji Ito | Goodreads

The main attraction in this collection is the retelling of the story of Frankenstein by master horror manga author Junji Ito. The book also contains some other short stories mainly centered around one character named Oshikiri, who has multiple versions of himself in multiple dimensions. The first half of the book is a condensed version of mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Although it is extremely simplified it manages to maintain the philosophy and emotion of the original while being illustrated with Ito's unmatched horror. The most common obsessions are with beauty, long hair, and beautiful girls, especially in his Tomie and Flesh-Colored Horror comic collections. For example: A girl's hair rebels against being cut off and runs off with her head; Girls deliberately catch a disease that makes them beautiful but then murder each other; a woman treats her skin with lotion so she can take it off and look at her muscles, but the skin dissolves and she tries to steal her sister's skin, etc. A Talk with Junji Ito | Creator Interview | VIZ, archived from the original on June 2, 2022 , retrieved June 2, 2022 In 2019, Ito received his first Eisner Award for his manga adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein for "Best Adaptation from Another Medium." REVIEW: Junji Ito’s FRANKENSTEIN stands as one of the best REVIEW: Junji Ito’s FRANKENSTEIN stands as one of the best

PDF / EPUB File Name: Frankenstein__Junji_Ito_Story_Collection_-_Junji_Ito.pdf, Frankenstein__Junji_Ito_Story_Collection_-_Junji_Ito.epubIn this adaptation of Junji Ito, we only follow the plot of the original story, with little liberties. I actually would have loved to see more liberties taken by Junji Ito, more gore and horror. He was inspired from a young age by his older sister's drawing and Kazuo Umezu's comics and thus took an interest in drawing horror comics himself. Natalie (in Japanese). July 27, 2010. Archived from the original on August 2, 2022 . Retrieved October 6, 2021. Soichi is a recurring character in many in Junji Ito tales. Sometimes he’s a protagonist, where he experiences weird. However, it’s usually the way round, with Soichi being the source of the horror through his unhinged behaviour. This book collects ten tales centered around the character. Junji Ito, as J-kun, has recently built a new house and has invited his fiancée, A-ko, to live with him. Little did he know, his blushing bride-to-be has some unexpected company in tow—Yon, a ghastly-looking family cat, and Mu, an adorable Norwegian forest cat. Despite being a dog person, J-kun finds himself persuaded by their odd cuteness and thus begins his comedic struggle to gain the affection of his new feline friends.
