The top oven rack is great for things you’d like a crusty brown top on… things like pies and casseroles. Wood requires putting the wood-burning assembly into the back and chopping up some tiny pieces of wood; going with gas requires a propane tank and attaching the gas burner hookup, which is fairly easy, as it only takes two screws.
