He didn’t say anything as I passed by. It wasn’t until I’d stepped out into the rain, raising my purse up over my head that I heard his response. Movement next to me drew my attention over. Miles was standing a few yards off, shaking hands with the pastor who then nodded and turned to hurry through the rain to his car. This book has it all, the sexy single dad, the bosses and all the feelings! I read this book in less than 24 hours, I didn’t want to put it down! I hit the cliffhanger at the end of the book and now I’m counting down to the next part! Miles will melt your heart and give you everything you want in the protagonist! Ahhhh I hate cliffhangers and now we have to wait a year for the second book to drop. It was a good storyline, I did find it a bit slow in parts and we didn’t really get an insight to the characters past. Meet up with Abigail who runs the small bookstore-slash-bakery in town as she fields all the gossip from every do-gooder who comes in her store for a cup of coffee. She also has to navigate her heart as she falls hard for a mysterious construction worker who has an even more mysterious roommate.

And one time Shelby helped making breakfast for the guest at the Inn and got some flour on her cheek: Miles is Shelby's ex-stepbrother. They had always gotten along well until he helped destroy her life one night. Shelby just can't forgive him for ruining her life. Miles has loved Shelby for years and he knows she was hurt by his actions but he only wanted to protect her and make her happy. He could see things she couldn't see.Miles had been my protector when we were kids, but then our parents divorced and something in him changed in high school. Our relationship was never the same. None of them speak their mind, yet they all want the others to do so. The constant tension between the various couples got annoying! And, for the longest time (90% of the book), the story felt like it went... nowhere. Then, just as we edged toward some resolution, it ended on a cliffhanger. Why?

Even though I wanted to console my ego and convince myself that it was okay that Miles had cried more times than I had during the funeral planning. That the funeral director handed him the box of tissues and never offered them to me. Nothing I could say to myself would fix the cold, hard heart my past had left me with. Miles pushed his hands through his hair once more and nodded. “Yeah, okay.” Then he paused.I could see in his body language that he wanted to say something more, and I had a sinking suspicion as to what that was. Problem was, there was no way I was ready to hear any of it. Absolutely brilliant, I just sat down on my vacation and read this book through in one day! This story was captivating and got me hooked There is still so much to learn and discover about these couples and their life, I don’t know how to wait until 2023 for the next episode hahaha…. If you would move the release date to a day next week that would be awesome, full lol I was the only one left carrying the burden of the failure that was our small, dysfunctional family. Shelby left Harmony ten years ago, vowing never to return. After her grandmother's passing, she's forced to return or her grandmother's beloved inn will be sold to the highest bidder. What she didn't expect was Miles, the single dad living at the inn.

I glanced down at the dark oak coffin in the ground, wondering for a moment if Gran would have been disappointed with what we’d chosen. Even though it had been years since we’d spoken, I still wanted to please her. To settle her into her final resting place in comfort.
