Upon first glance the black wood finish gives any reviewer the impression of a sleek and stealthy Bluetooth speaker ready to deliver powerful performance. For an optimal listening experience, you’ll need to pair your bookshelf speaker with a good subwoofer.

Moreover, the tweeters provide a wider high-frequency range, which gives you an extensive sweet spot to work with.

Despite the fact that monitor tuning on an entry-level speaker is simply not in the cards most of the time, the R1280DB comes equipped with some basic levels of adjustment. The 4″ mid-bass driver features a rigid composite and a sturdy steel frame to hold it in place and prevent vibrations. Twin Shadow’s “To the Top,” on the other hand, has a bit more punch to it with a little more bass and better defined low-end while also keeping things on the high-end present. And, while you’ll need either a subwoofer or a larger speaker if you want to really blast your music, for the vast majority of people – either casually or professionally – this is going to be plenty loud in closed settings.The front grille is removable, and it houses the 4-inch bass driver, bass reflex port, and the 13mm silk dome tweeter. The R1280DBs come with multiple inputs that allow you to connect a range of devices from home audio systems and PCs to TVs and smartphones. speakers are unable to do this, and they focus on the performance of the mid-bass and try to please most PC users. From their look to their build to the features, and ultimately its sound quality, these speakers have got it where it counts. That gray on classic wood look has always been the series’ signature look, but for the R1280DBs, Edifier opted to go darker gray, which works even better.

The R1850DB’s small but smart improvements across the frequency range, especially when it comes to the bass and mids, result in a more refined and complete listening experience compared to the R1700BT.It seems that it is not a problem to play pop music in this kind of sound, which is at least enough to satisfy most users. However, choosing from their wide range of bookshelf speakers can be challenging, especially if the products are almost identical. The panel features controls for volume, bass, and treble for precision tuning and maximum convenience. For example, if you aren’t happy with the audio low-frequency output, you can opt for a budget subwoofer down the line which isn’t an option with the R1700BT. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that they are “ugly”, but I wouldn’t be too upset if someone else did.
