o APA citation: Higgson, H. & Walker, K. (2008). Silverfin: A James Bond adventure. New York, NY: Hyperion Books. Higson was educated at Sevenoaks School and at the University of East Anglia (where his brother has taught since 1986 and is now a professor of film studies) where he met Paul Whitehouse, David Cummings and Terry Edwards. Higson, Cummings and Edwards formed the band The Higsons of which Higson was the lead singer from 1980 to 1986. They released two singles on the Specials' 2-Tone label. Higson then became a plasterer before he turned to writing for Harry Enfield with Paul Whitehouse and performing comedy. He came to public attention as one of the main writers and performers of the BBC Two sketch show The Fast Show (1994-2000). He worked with Whitehouse on the radio comedy Down the Line and is to work with him again on a television project, designed to be a spoof of celebrity travel programmes.[1:] Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments A special signed limited edition hardcover was released exclusively at Waterstone's Bookstores in the UK on October 6, 2005. Bond's Aunt Charmian drives an identical Bentley to one Bond drives in Casino Royale and in subsequent books. Bond also inherits his uncle's 1.5 liter Bamford & Martin Sidevalve Short Chassis Tourer. Bamford & Martin later became Aston Martin.

Something new I learnt from this book is NEVER be a spy just like the quote, because if you do, you will probably, get Eel serum injected to your body, have a narrow escape from flesh peeling eels, nearly get shot in the face by a double barrel shotgun, and experience a narrow escape from a purple eyed beast who ( SPOILER ALERT SO DON"T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU, OK?! ) kills the evil possessed madman. That said Higson did write some excellent books and his last one actually featured james Bond 007 in a albeit short chapter. They destroy the other vehicles and break through the gates to find that they are being followed by Hellebore and his men. They abandon the lorry on a farm and Red hides while James runs away toward town before turning toward the one place Hellebore wouldn't look: the castle. However, the Laird catches up and slashes James' face with a horse crop. James spits in his eye before Wilder rides in on Martini to rescue him. They ride into the forest surrounding the estate, where George finds them and despite James' misgivings, proceeds to help them destroy his father's laboratory. The Young Bond books have, to date, sold over a million copies in the UK and been translated into 24 different languages. The Young Bond titles are included in a recent list of books complied by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the School Libraries Association to encourage school boys to read (www.boysintobooks.co.uk). For a James Bond literary fun undoubtedly a lot of fun, unless you are purist and consider everything not written by Fleming unworthy. I did enjoy the graphic novel a lot.

Blood in the Water - Young Bond

Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - The only real problem that I have with this graphic novel is that it is incredibly fast-paced. Bond makes a friend at school - all we know about him is that he is smart, nice, a bit pudgy and from India. What else about his schooling at Eton? There seem to be a lot of ... While speaking to his running coach, Mr. Merriot, James is informed of the upcoming Hellebore triple cup race, and agrees to enter. However, while training for the swimming portion of the race in the icy Thames, George Hellebore comes to torment him. He forced Bond into an underwater race with a boy from the school brass band, ensuring James' loss. When next he speaks with Merriot, James voices concerns about the rumor that the competition is rigged, which Merriot laughs at and claims that it is, as it is paid for by Hellebore's father, in Hellebore's name, and the competitions were in each of Hellebore's strongest sports. Merriot, however, reveals that he believes James could win. Most recently Charlie and Paul co-produced, and performed in, the controversial and award-winning spoof radio series Down the Line for BBC Radio 4. This later became the television comedy series Bellamy’s People, on BBC 2, inspired by the Radio series. Bond's Aunt Charmain drives an identical Bentley to one Bond drives in Casino Royale and in subsequent books. Bond also inherits his Uncles 1.5 liter Bamford & Martin Sidevalue Short Chassis Tourer. Bamford & Martin later became Aston Martin.Titles include popular classics, exciting contemporary fiction, and thought-provoking non-fiction, introducing language learners to bestselling authors and compelling content. After studying at the University of East Anglia, Charlie formed a band, The Higsons. He then became a decorator before turning to the world of television and going into partnership with his friend Paul Whitehouse. Their successes included 'Saturday Live', the 'Harry Enfield Television Programme', 'The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer', 'Shooting Stars', 'Randall and Hopkirk, Deceased', the film 'Suite 16', 'Swiss Toni' and 'The Fast Show'. So... since the novel kept me on the couch to the end, (And the end was surprisingly good) I'll have to give it four stars, since I don't give fives. Although , it was extremely hard to believe they would have had modern, science facilities in Adolf Hitler's time so I'd have to mark it down to three stars. Actually, since the first half of the book was utterly boring, I would have to slice off a star again. So my final and last score for this novel is a two out of five, yes two stars.

Young Bond: SilverFin - Penguin Books UK

SilverFin 's success spawned a mobile game published by PlayerOne on January 5, 2006 in conjunction with the release of the second novel in the Young Bond series, Blood Fever. The game features three locations, 15 levels, and a variety of enemies that the player must avoid. In 2004, it was announced that Higson would pen a series of James Bond novels, aimed at younger readers and concentrating on the character's school-days at Eton. Higson was himself educated at Sevenoaks School where he was a contemporary of Jonathan Evans, current Director General of MI5. The first novel, SilverFin, was released on 3 March 2005 in the UK and on 27 April 2005 in the U.S. A second novel, Blood Fever, was released on 5 January 2006 in the UK and 1 June in the U.S. The third novel, Double or Die, was published on 4 January 2007 having had its title announced the day before. The next, Hurricane Gold, came out in hardcover in the UK in September 2007.[3:]In this year he also made a debut performance on the panel show QI. His final Young Bond novel, By Royal Command, was released in hardcover in the UK on the 3 September 2008.[4:]On Loch SilverFin in Scotland, a bad man lives in a castle with his son. James Bond and his new friend Red Kelly go to the castle. They must find Red's missing cousin, Alfie. But what do they find in the castle? Do they find Alfie, or is it too late? It is, however, when James is in Scotland for the rest of book, at the remote home of his Aunt Charmian and Uncle Max, that his first great adventure, and mystery to solve, truly takes shape. A local Laird, in his ominous castle nearby, is conducting horrific scientific experiments that prove he is very mad indeed and a threat to society who must be defeated. Before this excitement is over, James has a date with some killer eels. One thing about this category, is that it's interesting to view the perspective of the illustrator, how they saw the image of the book in their mind, although I can't mark them down if the tree I imagined had brown leaves instead of dark green leaves, as I have not read the actual book.
