The plot in this novel is so confusing that the last two to three chapters were devoted to explaining it all. Despite the fact that there were a lot of things I liked about the door, there were a lot of things that held the book back from being the best thing ever.

It is considered his sixth stand-alone novel, but does contain at least one reference to his Myron Bolitar series. While I am no stranger to any of his books, having read both Tell No One and The Stranger and having watched his TV show Safe on Netflix, I feel that none of those adventures ever captured the level of dark and gritty and the depressing tone that this book has. But there is still that moment, mercifully quick, the real Stage One, when you hear the news and stare into the abyss, and horrible as it is you understand everything. My lovely looking hardback arrived and sat on the 'waiting to be read' shelf for a few weeks before I finally found the time to open the front cover. The story actually begins with a surprising admission from a prisoner serving a life sentence for murder.One day, whilst getting ready to perform for her voyeur, she realises that a different – rather more sinister – man is watching her instead. One of them looks like her husband Jack in the days before she met him on a beach in France, where she had gone to escape from her celebrity as a survivor of a mass tragedy. If you've never taken the time to read any of Coben's books before, open yourself up to one of the best thriller novelists available, with "Just one look" as good a place to start as any! I think that Innoway, I think that she thinks that she’s even more miserable than she was at the start of the book.
