How did I know that the cable in question would work with this plug? I knew how to Select the Correct Connector. Notes on Cat6 and Cat6A Shielded plugs in general:

Tools Needed 

Cat6a shielded twisted pair cable has a shield in cables to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio-frequency interference (RFI) from affecting the performance of the cable. It also prevents cable signals from interfering with surrounding cables and equipment. Properly installed Cat6a shielded cables automatically curb EMI and crosstalk, helping to ensure data integrity and high-speed performance. The Cat6a shielded cables must be grounded to work. Here is a handy reference for you. When looking at the conductor color sequence, be sure you understand the orientation of the plug itself! Yes, it is quite possible to get the sequence correct and put the plug upside down. I have done it, so don’t be a Don. Using a flat head screwdriver tip, press the “wings” downward to get the crimp started. Place the plug into the ground tab crimp cavity at the rear of the termination tool. Now switch to the smaller “finish” cavity. Again, the plug latch-side should be down. Fully cycle the handle lever to complete the crimp. Once you have terminated both ends of your cable run, it is time for testing. There are a number of tools to accomplish this, and the easier and more informative the test is, the more expensive it will be. As a rule, you will only need shielding when your cable is running through an area of high electro-magnetic interference or radio frequency interference (called EMI/RFI). This might be output by power line structures, large magnets or sometimes radio antennas. If you are not encountering a situation like this, then shielding won't necessarily give you any advantage in terms of a faster or clearer signal. In fact, it may make matters worse.

Cat6e Cables

Grab your RJ45 crimp and termination tool. Place the plug into the tool (it will only go one way). Continue placing pressure on the cable and plug by pushing lightly into the tool cavity. At the same time, press the lever downward in one smooth motion. This single step does one thing only: Before you place your cable into the stripping tool, adjust the blade all the way up since it may be too low and cut too deeply. You need to do this only once at the start of your session. All done! So, there you have a Cat6/6A shielded external ground RJ45 connector on your cable now. Go plug it in and HAPPY NETWORKING! The main advantage of Cat 6 cable over previous generations is its capability to support Gigabit Ethernet (up to 1000 Mbps) and higher network speeds. It has more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise compared to Cat 5e cable, which allows for better performance and less signal degradation over longer distances. Applications
