About this deal

As many of our customers are classic car owners or business, we though that you might be interested in this small business which offers top quality and authentically made number plates. It can be applied to bare concrete, wood, sand and cement screeds as well as existing well bonded paint. We recommend two coats, but if you're painting over an existing paint in a similar colour, one coat should be enough. Before application it is important to make sure that all areas are clean, sound, dry & free from surface contamination. All oils and grease should be removed with a suitable degreasing solution. Any laitance on concrete should be removed by blasting, acid etching or other suitable mechanical methods. Hard smooth power-floated concrete floors should be acid etched or mechanically abraded. Care should be taken on previously painted floors to make sure that the original coatings are sound, as the epoxy will 'tighten-up' during curing, exposing areas of the original floor coating which have poor adhesion - mechanically abrading all areas is recommended to reduce this risk. Of all of the mistakes, this is the most difficult one to fix. If you have applied one of the components, then applying the other one over the top, or trying to mix it on the surface won’t fix it. The whole thing would have to come up and start again. So you really need to make sure you get this part right the first time! For greasy floors with heavy oil residue clean thoroughly using a suitable degreaser scraping off any dust or dirt and then prime with Resincoat Oil Tolerant Primer

All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. Concrete - power floated, granolithic and smooth surfaces should be roughened first to provide a good "key" for the paint. Once the contents of the two tins have been mixed together, a reaction takes place which causes the product to cure. This means that one 5L tin can’t be used for 2 coats. It will cover 30m2 with one coat, but if you have for example, 15m², you can’t use half the 5L tin for the first coat, then wait for the first coat to dry before using the other half for the second coat – it will have gone off in the tin. This is why we also make a 2.5L size. This covers 15m² with one coat, so select two of these if you want to apply 2 coats to an area of up to 15m². As dictated by normal good painting practice. Do not apply if the temperature is likely to drop below 10°C during application or during the drying process. In confined spaces provide adequate ventilation during application and drying. New concrete should be at least 2 months old and always washed with floorsaver Floor Etcher to reduce alkalinity and to remove any weak, loose cement deposits. The problem with self levellers is that they are generally used as base for laying carpet, wood, vinyl or tiles over, they are not usually strong enough to traffic directly, therefore if you paint them the leveller would break up taking the paint off with it. Also, paint doesn't tend to bond that well to self levellers - sorry to be the bearer of bad news! New concrete must be allowed to cure thoroughly which can take up to 3 months. Other surfaces have to be prepared and primed with the suitable primer for that substrate. Existing painted surfaces - Surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced. Remove all loose and flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate and prepare accordingly.Once the base and the activator have been mixed then it initiates the chemical reaction that causes it to cure. So once the two components have been mixed you have a limited amount of time to apply it before it has hardened too much. Often it is recommended to keep stirring at different intervals throughout to give you some extra time to apply the whole mix. I would wish to have a Matt finish or low sheen but not gloss.
