Creator Joe Penhall, Fincher, and the writing staff were shrewd to include the troubling offenders with relatively little alterations while appropriately tweaking the personal aspects of the agents' lives. He and Paul Holes also host a podcast about cold cases to incite interest in fellow amateur sleuths who can help bring criminals to justice. Sirhan Sirhan and the Atlanta Monster immediately jump to mind as examples of nonwhite murderers who are now common knowledge.John followed that up by co-authoring many books and consulting, privately, on major cases like JonBenet Ramsey’s. They interview Berkowitz and get him to admit to lying about hearing voices and demons, furthering their data on classifications of killers. Over the course of the show, the triad interviews serial killers, tracks down criminals, and develops the rudimentary tactic of criminal profiling. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia and subsequently jailed in a juvenile mental health facility for the murders. Anna Torv as Wendy Carr, a psychology professor working towards tenure at Boston University who joins the BSU.
