About this deal

It's not very long lasting (max 3hrs) and tho it leaves a pleasant dry down your your clothes it's pretty undecipherable for those around you. And unlike a big number of summer fragrances : Exit the classic woods, enter the conifers, they're realisticly done, you'll imagine yourself in a pine / cypress forest. The Cypress is perfectly mixed with the Balsam Fir to give the scent a airy, crisp, soft woody veil.

More importantly, the drydown is as good and interesting as the opening, it's not often that you can get such a feature from a summer designer scent. For reason of hygiene and safety, we cannot refund or exchange any cosmetics that have been removed from the original wrapping or show any signs of having been used unless they are faulty, damaged, unsatisfactory quality or incorrect item received. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It contains notes of watery notes, lemon, bergamot, eucalyptus, jasmine, basil, cypress, pine, balsam fir and cedar.I can easily say this is my favourite Issey Miyake and already one of my favourite freshie I've ever tried. It develops nicely and it will be lovely on a hot day - it's not overbearing at all, it creates a soft cloud of fragrance.

Apart from that it's an amazing scent, a complete summer hit and the packaging is a work of art as well! Top notes are Watery Notes, Calabrian bergamot and Neroli; middle notes are Frangipani, Orange Blossom and Rose; base notes are Musk, Coconut Milk and Driftwood. Sillage and longevity being moderately low is compensated for easily by just applying more of it than one generally would. I never expected to be able to tolerate 'salty' fragrances but apparently this one is nice enough to convince me otherwise.The exact image that this reminds me of is the scene from the first book of Clive Barker's Abarat, when Candy (the protagonist) literally summoned the sea to her hometown for the first time. To illustrate these fragrant emotions, Kevin Lucbert, a young French artist, has imagined a brand new typeface for L'Eau d'Issey which is drawn according to an imaginary map symbolizing these fragrant stopovers.

Finally, Marie Salamagne takes us to the Portuguese coast of Alentejo where the iodized breeze of the Atlantic Ocean meets the heat of the cypresses.

The journey ends with Dora Baghriche taking us to Panarea, a small volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, a volcanic land that dips into the vibrant blue of the water. The fragrance opens very sharp and in the start I only smell the conifers, which makes the top to woody and sharp for my taste.
