This time, these Battleforces are all for the first founding chapters, as Warhammer Community unveiled the new box sets and what you can score in each! Unsurprisingly the Ultramarines option features a lot of guys on foot. While obviously a decent starter set for someone who wants to play Ultramarines, this is probably one of the harder sets to apply to a different chapter since five of the characters have lots of Ultramarines iconography on them that’s a pain to convert. Existing Space Marine players aren’t likely to get much use out of this box since Hellblasters and Intercessors are commonplace. Storm of ChogorisThis multipart plastic kit builds one Knight Castellan, a titanic long range Lords of War choice for your Imperial Knights army – or a wandering Freeblade for other Imperium forces. This super-heavy walker is armed with a blast-unleashing plasma decimator, an armour-melting volcano lance, and an array of carapace-mounted meltaguns, shieldbreaker cannons, and missiles. The Knight Castellan makes a fantastic painting project and centrepiece, and offers a range of poses, face plates, and armour pieces, allowing you to create a truly unique engine of war. This kit can also be assembled as a Knight Valiant, as well as a Knight Tyrant for Chaos Knights. Kill Team Nachmund: We initially thought this value was really high, but now it makes sense, as they made this with the price increases in mind!

Finally, the Salamanders Warforged Strike Force is great for fans of infantry assaults – not to mention flamers and meltas – with 20 Intercessors, three Eradicators, three Aggressors, and Adrax Agatone to oversee them all. Both Characters can make battlefield repairs on the Dreadnoughts, with Feirros restoring 3 wounds every turn, so it’ll take some serious firepower to bring them down. Just add a few Gladiator tanks and you’ll prove that the flesh is weak and the machine is strong. The Raven Guard had none, the Imperial Fists had 2 sprues. now WarComteam did say that each of these new boxes comes with upgrade sprues, but not all of the photos reflect them being used at all. This is an interesting box; depending on the price, it could be a decent value. As we said, though, we’ll have to wait on pricing before making the final decision! Salamanders: Warforged Strike Force As well as spinning an epic yarn, Arks of Omen: Abaddon lets you take part in the saga of the Balefleets by introducing rules and missions for Boarding Actions – a whole new way to play Warhammer 40,000, offering fast-paced games set within the confines of voidcraft, space hulks, and orbital stations. Another marine heavy box, but with a little less variety. we have 20 intercessors here. The Eradicators and aggressors are a bonus to that samey approach of basic marines. Salamanders: Warforged Strike Force ContentsObviously, if you’re going with the Ultramarines, you will need a lot of troops and some heroes. However, if you already have both Calgar and Tigurius, the value might not be as big. The last bundles we covered were for Deathwatch and Rogue Trader, but they have a different RPG style this time around! You don’t just get a selection of units in these battleforces, either. Each one comes with a set of detailed upgrade sprues and transfer sheets, so you can make your new Space Marines look like they’ve walked right out of your chosen Chapter’s forge. Flaming braziers, curved chainswords, and bionic enhancements are all here for the enterprising Warhammer hobbyist. There were eight 40k Christmas Battleforces in 2022. That is huge, as starting in 2016, there were only eight battleforces altogether for both AoS and Warhammer 40k total!

Salamanders look striking on the battlefield and are an excellent opportunity to practise your flame details, which are sure to stand out in the next Armies on Parade award show. A Bladeguard Veteran bodyguard for Adrax and an Impulsor to ride in won’t go amiss, either if you’re looking to expand your force.Some Battleforce boxes are more focused on a certain aspect of an army, while others are more varied. If you look at the Adeptus Custodes box, almost all the value comes from the Custodian Guard, so if you really want a lot of troops, it’s a good buy. While this box doesn’t have as many minis, you can’t go wrong with more bikers and ATVs for white Scars! Space Marines: Scions of Macragge It wouldn’t be a Space Marine party without the Ultramarines, and the final battleforce shows them at their versatile best. You get objective control from 10 Intercessors, supreme firepower from 10 Hellblasters, melee mastery from three Bladeguard Veterans, tactical genius from Marneus Calgar, and psychic dominance from Chief Librarian Tigurius.
