Perhaps there’s a special someone who would really like a piece of some of this precious metal… Highlights of this London walk include Richmond Park, charming alleys like Brewers Lane, and great riverside pubs and restaurants.

The SS Great Eastern's Launch Ramp - At the south eastern tip of the Isle of Dogs lies the remains of the SS Great Eastern’s launch ramp. Something of an M25 - minus the cars and plus a whole load of beaut scenes - the London Outer Orbital Path (LOOP) is 150 miles long. If you want the best walks near London by train for summer, we'd suggest section 12; a route from Uxbridge to Harefield West along the Grand Union Canal, with Broadwater Lake, the marina and a stunning mill house making up the sights. This walk is ideal if you’re into heritage architecture and great food. There are excellent coffee shops along the way, too. At their apex you’ll discover sweeping views into central London, while the terraced levels contain a series of treasures including a Sound Garden and an Animal Walk filled with living natural history specimens. Garden at 120 Seymour Place can be easily overlooked thanks to its proximity to glamorous Chiltern Street in the Marylebone area. This hidden place in London is just a short stroll from Marble Arch, Baker Street, and Bond Street. It’s easy to reach by tube, car, train, or foot.This walk is perfect if you like a tour that’s focused on a specific theme, but you also want to get a feel for the local area as you go. Short but sweet, this Alexandra Palace walk is one to do when you want maximum views with minimum effort. You may have been to Hatton Gardens – London’s diamond district – but have you ever heard of The Silver Vaults? That’s not where the story ends though. The name supposedly comes from a tree that Elizabeth I rested under as she took refuge here on a journey through the Great North Wood that used to cover most of South London.

We’re still not 100% convinced by the fact that what ultimately used to be stables for horses have somehow become some of the most expensive residences in an already expensive city… but that’s London for you.This is a simply beautiful stretch of Regent’s Canal. Best at sunrise or twilight, when the sun reflects on the water and all the houseboats are illuminated. Still, while some places like the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town and Nightjar have made their way onto most people’s radars, others like Oriole have stayed relatively low-key.
