Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris: With notes of strawberry, jasmine, and patchouli, this fragrance has a sweet and floral character that could offer a different take on the floral experience. Dancing playfully alongside the brown sugar; orange blossom, frangipani and jasmine provide a creamy white floral touch. Equinox Bloom is a fragrance I would recommend to young women wanting to venture away from gourmands and explore the white floral territory. Equinox Bloom is a brilliantly composed white floral without being an assault on the nose.

It turned out to be a ‘no brainer’ sweet scent that seemed modern yet different that I could wear in every season and virtually every occasion. Yes, it does remind me of milky tea with lots of brown sugar and a posy of tropical florals with tender green shoots draped beside my tea cup. It is just so easy for me to wear. Equinox Bloom is kind of an oddball to be honest, similar to the effect of Penhaligon's other creation, Amaranthine (which I am forever missing!!) with its mixture of really sweet gourmand + floral + milky elements. I can see how this might be almost gross but I find it addicting. Blasted Bloom is quite sharp with tart berries, salty sea breeze, zesty pink pepper and musky cedar. I disagree that this is a strictly feminine scent, I actually find it quite unisex. It can easily be worn by men as it smells somewhat similar to other popular masculine fragrances such as Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme and Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme. Moreover, renowned fashion moguls like Manola Blahnik have also been known to include Penhaligons fragrances in their respective wardrobes. Manolas creativity and entrepreneurial spirit lead her to be one of the most iconic shoemakers of all time. Given her exceptional taste, it comes as no surprise that her admiration for the fragrances matches the quality of her shoes.The notes are not that complex or too much. It is a very simple, soft and calm fragrance. Just like the noble women of the Victorian Era; innocent, mild-tempered, sedate and elegant. At first, you doubt the permanence of such an elegant and simple fragrance, but from the moment you start carrying it on you, you begin to realize that it is not so silent and volatile at all. Interestingly, it stays on the skin all day and continues to make itself felt from opening to closing. Update on longevity: Blasted Heath stayed on my skin through the night and was still going strong when I woke up the following(this)morning! A solid 16hrs plus, even after my shower.

From a wearer's perspective this is an interesting creation. I feel it's similar to Ostara in the fact that is is a fragrance of stages. Not all are enjoyable yet you have to experience each to get to the next.

Smelling these perfumes makes me REALLY afraid to try the current version of my favorite Penhaligon's fragrance: Hammam Bouquet.
