Players will get to visit such mainstays as Gloom Beach, Scaris, Skull Shores, Granite City and two different courses based around the Monster High school. There isn’t a lot to the game but when you’ll see them skating, push each other, get knocked down and do jumps. The hardest thing in game is trying to find your way around the school without the help of Count Fabulous simply because of how nondescript everything looks. It would also help if there was a multiplayer mode as then I could play against my wife or a friend over the internet. Each comes with their own special effects, animations, powers, and sayings, and you can swap among the teammates at will in the middle of a race by tapping the bumper buttons.

They’re of a high quality and look much better than those crappy Living Dead Dolls you could find in Hot Topic years ago. Mini Games are always fun if they are made well, fetch quests are surprisingly hard to stop after just one and Monster High: Ghoul Spirit combines both of those into one entertaining game.

Despite earlier diary entries stating Heath Burns is Jackson and Holt's cousin from their father's side of the family, the Ghoul Spirit game states that he is their cousin from their mother's side of the family. Coffins, Oil Buckets, and Cleaning Supplies are all traps that can be left for any racer unlucky enough to skate into them, which can be the user themself if no one else triggered them and they complete a lap.

The second type of innate abilities are the special abilities, of which each character has their own though the effects may be the same. Once you've completed your purchase, your Monster High Ghoul Spirit Nintendo DS Game will be on its way. The Wii version allows up to three players, I'm told, but the DS version lacks any support for that. Maybe the Wii version will have multiplayer, but Kennedy is reviewing that one so we’ll all have to wait and find out if it does.

There aren’t a lot of options here (between two and three for each), so that was a bit of a disappointment. One of the chambers in the game is the Vampitheater, which appears to be just another name for the Auditorium. The triggers let you transform your current skater into one of the other two teammates you have (except in Relay mode).

I guess a thumb’s in the middle here as the game IS fun, but there really is a lot more than could have been done with it.While there are LOTS of racing games out there, I can’t think of any that look, feel or have remotely the same theme as this. It has a Haunted Mansion level that captures some of the feel of this, but it’s still wildly different. Another speed boost can be gotten from Pixie Wings, which are not as fast but leave the user more in control of corners than Skates do. At the same time, Count Fabulous was telling me to go to the character I needed to give said missing item to rather than the locker. There are six tracks available in the Wii and DS versions of Skultimate Roller Maze and eight in the 3DS version.

It wasn’t the best game I’ve played all year, but it honestly is one of the better Wii exclusives of 2012 – such as that is. Without co-perative or competitive gameplay, there’s not much you can do with the DS version of Skultimate Roller Maze You can unlock everything in about an hour and a half if you’re good at the game and then it’s really just trying to beat your time. Overall, the aural aspects are somewhat better than the visuals, but a higher budget and more time could have really made this thing memorable for the core Monster High fan.

My wife is one, but she really didn’t like Ghoul Spirit and she hates roller derby so she probably won’t care much for Skultimate Roller Maze either. The gameplay is divided over six regular student missions, one secret student mission, one Freaky Flaw mission, and five assignments by the teachers. Each race has three different levels of difficulty, ranging from Spooky to Scarifying, so players of all skill levels can join in the fun.
