About this deal

As mentioned, it oddly contrasts with the plentiful upper mid energy, which is clearly more potent and bloomed in comparison. The Moondrop Starfield is a 110 dollar IEM, it has a single Dynamic driver that sports carbon nanotubes per side.

Both sets aren’t far apart when it comes to resolution although the Etymotic are ultimately a bit ahead, which is especially audible in the lows in very fast and demanding scenarios where the Starfield just sound softer, slower and lose control earlier. I bought a cable as well, but I got conned by how pretty Autumn Moon looks , so spent more than I needed to haha, it looks good excited to have it. It has both height and depth presence which actually represents the sound on a huge scale due to this It is very immersive and you can make out different instruments playing at different distances very easily. If an item weighs more than 9 pounds, we won’t be able to ship to these addresses because of our current courier agreements.Speaking of which, the bass on the Starfield is about equal parts sub-bass and mid-bass - considerably above neutral - and honestly, it’s not very good. This feels like a literal solid chunk of aluminum and might be the new standard for build quality in a budget IEM for my foreseeable future.

There are no nasal tendencies, but I do notice some issues in the upper mids that make the IEM feel just a bit offset when compared to the treble just above. I think if anyone wants something with a bit more energy in the treble proper, rather than the more relaxed 4-7khz range of the Starfield, the IT01s may be the better choice. My Starfield are a good bit bassier below 100 Hz but have a greater focus on the true low sub-bass as this is where their peak frequency lies whereas they are quite comparable above that.It's a sacrifice I'd be willing to make, partially due to the frequency response as well, which I discuss later on. In essence, microscopic tubes of carbon (excellent conductors of heat and energy) were heated and cooled.

It is definitely the heaviest IEM that I currently have and it still doesn't put too much strain on my ears though it may with other ears (smaller ears maybe). And speaking of the treble, it's not sibilant or fatiguing in any way, and then the energy comes back up above the consonant range beyond 10khz with an exceptional amount of air and resolution.Their enthusiasm appears infectious, as although this is my first ‘ears-on’ experience with one of MoonDrop’s products, I’ve only encountered positive word of mouth.
