We do have a few POC who play a role in this movement (I think one is black and one is latinx if I am remembering correctly) and they definitely explain to Viv how even though she is experiencing sexism like them, it’s entirely different for her being a white girl. And now it’s totally acceptable that Mitchell Wilson and his friends interrupt girls in class to instruct them to make sandwiches.

But the aspects of Emma and Claudia trying to complain about his son could really have been done so well. Vivian is given a firsthand lesson in the problematic aspects of "white feminism" and learns how to take the extra steps needed to ensure complete inclusion of all women (not just the white girls). Not only does she receive an outpouring of support from the group, but there's an important person in the audience for her story as well.This book definitely tackles male privilege and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of my reading friends who are men are uncomfortable while reading this, but I think that’s why it’s so beneficial to a variety of populations.
