For most people, there is no point in buying an aero bottle. It only provides a marginal gain while making hydration more complicated. It can even prevent you from refilling. If you are a fast cyclist (25mph or 40km/h average speed) it can give the extra gain you need to cross the finish line first! Though this may sound surprising (received wisdom is weight matters above all else on climbs), the tide may be turning in our understanding of what actually slows road cyclists down. Rather than using aluminum alloy or carbon fiber like normal, XLAB opts for a Xenon nylon cage that is incredibly lightweight but also less durable. Still, this is one of the lightest hydration systems that we saw regardless of the mounting position.In use this is a halfway house between our Crono CX system and a traditional bottle, giving better aerodynamic properties than a traditional cage but with a form some riders will find more practical to use First, the RML is not that secure and is liable to send your bottles flying when you ride over rough terrain. In fact, were it not for the fact that it does not come with a cage or mount and is heavier than the competing XLAB model, this would be the best performing frame mounted hydration system.
Rear – This is a cage type of mount for the hydration system. The main benefit of this System is that it looks familiar to most of the bikers. This is because most of the bikes come with a rear cage, and thus it does not feel anything like new.
