If your dog is used to the confined, cozy environment of a crate – particularly if you cover the crate partially with a blanket or towel – it will feel more comfortable in a smaller, covered environment.

So you may want to consider placing a few T-shirts or other items of clothing that smell like you on the dog bed. Or, if your dog has a favorite blanket, you may want to place that in the dog bed.
