Starting this chapter, Nao is introduced as she waits at a restaurant to meet her childhood friend who she hasn't seen in two years, Maiko, and Maiko's boyfriend, Yuuma. La historia si bien tiene el característico "body horror" de Junji Ito, se siente mucho más ligera que otras historias. Great production and presentation, looks good alongside the Viz hardcovers, even though it's by a different publisher.

Without going into spoilers, the horrific events that follow wherever this girl ends up are not for the faint of heart and Ito is clearly having the time of his life. A pair of twisted siblings-Yuuma, a young man obsessed with the devil, and Chizumi, the worst little sister in recorded history-cause all sorts of tragic and terrifying things to happen wherever they go. By the final chapter, Yuuma and Chizumi are forced to live out of a tent in the woods due to having had to leave their previous address on short notice after getting tracked down by a reporter.The stories focus on siblings Yuuma and Chizumi, who leave ruin and destruction in every town they pass through. Ambiguous Innocence: Chizumi asserts that Yuuma is addicted to apologizing to other people due to it bringing him closer to the devil. The artwork in this was astounding and I know that it will be the same in everything else that he has worked on. Don’t miss this opportunity to see one of the greatest names in horror manga in his element cutting loose.

Although people can be uncomfortable with his intense apologies, they will sometimes end up feeling pleasure from the apologies. Putting much the same plot on loop dampens the punch a bit (oh, these heady days where a room full of human proto-flesh rotting away fails to sustain its own surreal horror after the third samey page). Uncanny Valley Makeup: In the fourth chapter, Chizumi wears entirely too much when Tomohito is kidnapped for her. Chizumi was a very entertaining character and Yuuma was somewhat annoying with the way he apologizes all the time and causes people to melt. Much like Ito’s other work, this comic doesn’t simply go for scares, but enjoys pushing the boundaries of visual horror.Drawn in a Baphomet-esque style, the Devil is repeatedly brought up and is the main source of evil and horror in the manga. Annoying Younger Sibling: Chizumi is an extremely twisted example, as her "annoying" behavior towards her older brother consists of (very likely truthfully) telling others about how he made a pact with the devil and kills for fun. Ending the short story, Mitsuo finds a charred hand with Yuka's engagement ring and welcomes her back.

Despite this, he goes out of his way to take her with him whenever he's forced to go on the run, and seems to hold himself responsible for her deranged personality to a certain degree. As soon as the broadcast starts, Yuuma gives continuous intense apologies, until everyone has melted and the ooze from upstairs seeps through to cover Yuuma and Chizumi. When they try to pull the silent children out of the ground, their torsos extend into a long trunk, so they do not come out of the holes. This was a still a decent horror graphic work, but I would personally recommend reading Junji Ito’s more popular mangas first.

His longest work, the three-volume Uzumaki, is about a town's obsession with spirals: people become variously fascinated with, terrified of, and consumed by the countless occurrences of the spiral in nature.
