About this deal

Gav and I are really excited this Christmas – because at last, at long last [okay, after seven years] we are finally able to play board games properly as a family. Okay, so Hero isn’t old enough to understand what’s going on in them completely yet, but he can throw the die, move counters and most importantly, watch out for sneaky cheaters. Haha. Consider popping a bag of popcorn, blending up some smoothies or milkshakes and putting out a bag of potato chips to enjoy with your family and friends as you sit down to enjoy some game time. Initially, I thought that because nothing changes about the board with each game, that it would be easy to find the little pictures and the game would become boring very fast – but there are over 1,000 of them to find and remembering where that many are is pretty hard, even for a super brain like Gav. Ha ha. The objective of Disney Eye Found It!: Hidden Picture Card Game is to get rid of all of the cards from your hand. Setup While Disney Eye Found It! Hidden Picture Card Game is still far from a perfect game, I think it is a considerable improvement over the original game. This is mostly due to the fact that it focuses on what the original game did best while getting rid of everything that didn’t add to the experience. Searching for the objects is fun. Spinning a spinner and moving the corresponding number of spaces is not fun. I have always enjoyed this find the hidden object gameplay, and it holds up pretty well in the card game.

EDIT: Something to note though is that some of the objects are slightly differently drawn on the board to the cards [like the broom, which was my first card when I finally got to play]- it’s up to you [and which player’s turn it is if you’re in our family] as to how much leeway is given… As an exhausted mom to 3 beautiful boys aged 5-11, Keep Up With the Jones Family began as a family blog and turned into my passion. Some games can only be played by two to four individuals, while others allow for as many as 12 players.Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame. Children who haven’t yet learned how to read would do best with a board game that focuses on recognizing colors and shapes. Kids are also attracted to bright colors, which will help you capture their interest. Try starting with a simple game that only requires toddlers to move their game piece from one side of the board to the other. Make sure these games are also easy to clean up afterward. So, besides the enormously long 6-foot board [which comes in three sections, not one huuuuge piece], in the box is: Clear instructions – Easy to learn with a clear, high quality instruction manual. You can start playing right away! They're based in convenient locations including supermarkets, newsagents and train stations. Plus they're often open late and on Sundays.

Another thing you’ll want to keep in mind when shopping for board games for all ages is the length of game time. Younger children may only have enough focus for a 15- to 20-minute game. Teens and adults can handle games that last much longer.Father Christmas has quite a few board games on his lists this year that our two bigger boys are hoping for – they’ve seen me and their Daddy playing them recently [thanks to a huge board game collector selling some of his collection at IBM] and realised that all fun does not need to stem from Minecraft for all eternity and that there is a world beyond the watching of tutorials on YouTube and the perpetual adoration of Dan TDM. It is kind of a shame that Disney Eye Found It! had to add the spin and move mechanic because I think the game could have been pretty good if it just focused on the searching mechanic. Unfortunately due to the boring spin and move mechanic the game is pretty boring for everyone outside of young children and their parents. Therefore I probably would only recommend Disney Eye Found It! to parents with young children and maybe people that really love Disney animated movies.
