About this deal

the lie he tells šŸ˜¬. Look. Itā€™s almost required in a forced proximity book šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø. How else would they spend more time together šŸ˜ˆ? Overall, I loved the first 60% and liked the last 40%. It fizzled out and got corny (for my taste), but the good outweighed the bad.

Friends to lovers, fake dating, lots of anxiety representation, low angst and just a really cute story. These two best friends had been circling each other for YEARS, ever since their high school years trying to figure out if the other felt differently or if they were just one step away from ruining a perfect just-best-friends relationship, too scare to act on their feelings. The easy friendship between the two was one of my favorite parts of this book, like, even when it involved things the other hated, they were always there, supporting each other. And the chemistry? WOW... does anyone else here love the "practice" scenes in fake dating romances? These two are oscar-worthy with their performances and practices! And then the angst of " am I the only one catching feelings?", " what if I ruin a perfect friendship of years?", " did I imagine all those heated looks, the touches, the tension?", and all the mixed signals when two shy best friends don't want to take the big step that could lead to their HEA or to ruin them forever. Felicity, I liked a lot but I do have to say at 28-ish years old, sheā€™s still stress cuts her hair; I had an issue with that. Most people by then have learned ways to not feel worse about themselves. Which ends up causing more issues down the road. Obviously, as you progress into the story we learn more about that.Know this was Melanie's first billionaire book, but the plot being so centered around him being the aforementioned billionaire was... repetitive at times. the epilogue. Heā€™s so flustered šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ I loved it šŸ„¹ if you sigh up for Melanie Harlowā€™s newsletter, you can get a bonus one šŸ„° This book was yet another heartwarming, well written addition to this series of standalones. Being a best friends to lovers story, it already had an established deep connection and past history between the MCs to work with, but the story didnā€™t use that as a crutch; instead it focused on the now of their connection and how they dealt with their current feelingsā€”and their fake engagement. Thereā€™s also multiple different representations of mental illnesses in this book and as someone with issues very similar to those depicted, I was amazed at how well they were written.

What would it be like to kiss her? What would she do if I took her hand? Should I tell her I want to be more than friends?" The whole book didnā€™t really seem to have a proper structure. All of a sudden this happened. Both Hutton and Felicity just seemed really flat too. There wasnā€™t much of a personality. The fact that they were grown adults they seemed more like teenagers to me. They were also really awkward an nerdyā€¦ I donā€™t mind when one character has those qualities, but with both itā€™s not for me. Their friendship was also so sweet. Theyā€™ve been friend since the 7th grade so they already had that deep connection and knew each other pretty well. Although they lost touch and reconnected before the story started, it didnā€™t feel like we were missing anything. They were both the smart, shy kids in school and it was cute when we got little glimpses into their past, passing coded notes and being a ball of nerves around the other person. My favorite food is bacon. My favorite color is blue. My favorite smell is lavender, but I also love Bounce dryer sheets in Outdoor Fresh. Iā€™ll never move away from Michigan because I love the lakes too much. My favorite season is fall. I canā€™t resist clothing that is gray and soft, just like my pet rabbit, Peaches, the meanest, prettiest bunny on the planet. They decide that keeping up the story for a while is mutually beneficial for both of them, but soon their ā€œfakeā€ engagement starts to feel a little too real. Between the ring shopping, dress shopping, and ~kissing practice~, lines get blurred. their was no unnecessary shit stirring between them. whenever they had a falling out, it was for a valid reason. so all the conflicts that arose throughout the book werenā€™t irritating to read or stifled my enjoyment bcos i understood why things were strained between them. again, bcos their history was laid out amazingly, their present actions were justifiable and easy to understand. their own insecurities and doubts made so much sense to me, so whenever they had issues, i wasnā€™t mad a all bcos i could see the process of their line of thinkingā€” they were just really well fleshed out characters. Antes que nada, no es de los mejores libros de Melanie, tenĆa mĆ”s altas expectativas, pero aun asĆ es mucho mejor que sus Ćŗltimos libros. But just when I think Iā€™ve got Gianni Lupo all figured out, he gives me a taste of the man he could be, of the family we could become, of the way he could love me if I let him.

Loved the appearances from other previous main characters in the series as well. It's one of my favorite things in interconnected standalone series... cameos!!!) Saben que disfruto mucho los libros de Melanie se me hacen frescos, relajados, sin tanto drama y despuƩs de tanto dark romance, necesitaba algo mƔs soft, pink con un toque de spice y este libro es perfecto.

gianni & ellie are childhood frenemies turned enemies then coworkers at a vineyard. when ellie is about to take a road trip in an oncoming blizzard, gianni offers to drive her so she gets there safely. after the opportunity turns sour, their situation gets worse when they have to pull off the road and get a motel room for the night where šŸ˜‰ thereā€™s only one bed. despite ellieā€™s hatred of gianni, she canā€™t deny heā€™s hot asf so they agree to a little blizzard fun except they come home with a more ~permanent~ souvenir. Felicity didn't think that making up an engagement to her billionaire childhood best friend was going to go anywhere, okay? Has she kind of been in love with him forever? Sure. Has he also been in love with her? Yeah. What could possibly go wrong?

Bellamy Creek meets Cloverleigh Farms Bonus Scene: https://www.melanieharlow.com/cloverleigh-farms-meets-bellamy-creek-in-this-series-crossover-bonus/ Fake dating is my addiction, and Melanie delivered.
