About this deal

To be clear, this EDC light does not have a very long throw. I tested it on a hillside with a rangefinder. It lit up a broad area very clearly out to about 65 yards as measured by a laser rangefinder. As you can see in the image below, the light really casts a nice broad beam.

As can be seen from the above, Baton 3 Pro is superior to Baton 3 and S2R Baton II in lighting brightness, beam range and running time, and the original price difference between the three products is not much (now during O-Fan Day, the price of Baton 3 is reduced by 30%). Taken together, it is clear that the Baton 3 Pro is more cost-effective. Of course, the base of the Olight Baton 3 Pro Silver Ridge flashlight is magnetic because of the way this light charges. But that magnetic base also serves as a great connection point for the Baton 3 Pro, too. Forgot to get a photo of that in action, though! Power and Runtime As far as I can tell, this user interface is the same as previous Batons – the S2R Baton II, for example. Olight is a brand that seems to understand this need. The Baton pro 3 has a battery level indicator of one single LED light.It’s an indicating switch, as I said above, too. It can indicate in green (seen below) and red. (And maybe orange, sometimes it’s faint enough to be hard to say for certain.) The Baton 3 Pro has 2 color temperatures: cool white and neutral white, but the S2R Baton II only has cool white.

Measurement disclaimer: Testing flashlights is my hobby. I use hobbyist-level equipment for testing, including some I made myself. Try not to get buried in the details of manufacturer specifications versus measurements recorded here; A certain amount of difference (say, 10 or 15%) is perfectly reasonable. What’s Included I’d think twice before using the Olight Baton 3 Pro flashlight or most strobing flashlights as a breakdown warning light on the highway, or as a bicycle headlight strobe. A rapid frequency strobe is at a minimum, distracting and irritating, but could be seizure-inducing in some individuals. And I know strobe is sometimes marketed as a weapon but I hope you’ll reconsider that perspective. If the Baton 3 had a slower frequency strobe I’d use it on my bike. But it would work well as an ‘always on’ bike light. I’ve used the device for seven days and tested everything it had to offer and the light in the battery indicator is still green. I’m still in awe!

The rest of the light is fairly standard. Batons are great! I’m a massive fan of Batons. The Silver Ridge finish is quite neat and you might know I’m a huge fan of the Topo-style lines.
