Final Thoughts (HD, 6:02) — In this final featurette the cast and crew reflect back on their Interstellar experience and what it all meant to them.

It was interesting to learn how they sought out to make the robots as human as possible without actually being human and functional as well. Paramount Home Media Distribution has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray director Christopher Nolan's blockbuster Interstellar (2014), starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, and John Lithgow. Yes, it would have been nice to have just a little more backstory to Cooper before leaving this world or even see his character initially resist the offer to commander the mission, but in the end, it is what it is and I’m happy with what I have because it’s the emotions that transcend this piece. Will Cooper and his crew be able to navigate the dangers of space and save the Earth or are they doomed?

While nothing can be said negative about the top billing of Jessica Chastain, she just wasn’t given enough to work with here in my opinion. Shot on film in both anamorphic 35mm and IMAX 70mm, the presentation adopts the shifting aspect ratio formula for the two formats, with a 1.If you look past its flaws then you'll likely see that this truly is a visionary work of frequently opulent majesty. Surround Sound Presentation: The rears are alive throughout from various instances such as whipping wind, sirens and even that tension-filled docking scene. You can easily go through that scene yourself and see how tight the composition is; how often his face gets cropped, as if they cinematographer hadn't planned it to be in widescreen.

That said, when the film launches us into space, and the screen opens up to envelope the IMAX footage - the most amount of IMAX footage Nolan had ever employed - the picture quality somehow, impossibly, attains a whole new level of perfection, soaking up the amazing space sequences and making for some of the best demo footage you'll likely ever see.

If Gravity took us into the unforgiving abyss of space, and Sunshine took us towards the unrelenting blast of the sun, Interstellar takes us beyond both, to wormholes and space anomalies, ice planets and water planets and other dimensions. The accompanying score - which pervades, penetrates and outright smothers just about everything else - is a highly emotional one, cranking up the tragedy, the sadness, the pain and longing, and building to an absolute crescendo during the extended twist and chase/docking sequence. Murphy who is extremely bright and close to her father, believes her room is haunted by a “ghost” that is trying to communicate with her.
