I really like the MCs and side characters. They are developed and somewhat complex. I really enjoyed how sweet Cassie is with Sophie and seeing Aiden figure out how to be more present as a parent. However, I never felt attached to them, and as a whole, they feel a bit generic. Whew. All that pent-up sexual tension exploded in one instance and it did so beautifully and I can finally breathe. It gave me intense blue balls in the first half and then I was left hot and bothered for the remainder of it. No complaints here. This steamy, romantic comedy puts a modern spin on traditional tropes, bringing the falling-for-the-nanny and secret-past storylines into the 21st century...Readers who enjoyed Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone's A Merry Little Meet Cute will adore this positive, upbeat, sex-filled romp * Library Journal * Jude’s brain completely shutting down when his feelings for Indira overwhelm him in any way (see: “I don’t eat” lmao what a precious baby)

This book is now my entire personality. It’s my wish on a shooting star (I JUST WANT A HOT DADDY CHEF OKAY??). It’s my white whale. In layman’s terms (a thing a character played by Steve Carell once said): It’s the perfect combination of sexy and cute. The story follows Cassie (25), a woman who is just finishing up her degree. When she gets laid off from work, Cassie finds herself taking a job as a live-in nanny. Aiden (32) is overworked, stressed out, and desperate to get some help with his daughter, so he jumps at the chance to hire someone as qualified as Cassie. They soon discover that the sparks that fly between them could be a problem - Cassie is there to work, and her focus should be on Aiden's daughter, not the sexy single dad she's sharing a home with. But the two can't seem to stop crossing lines, and things become even more complicated when Cassie realizes that Aiden is the OnlyFan who ghosted her when things got a little too real between them... and she's not sure what to do about that. And dear reader, I leave it up to your imagination as to what is likely to happen when two attractive single adults live in together under one roof (with a child). The Pacing—A perfect breezy book with the right amount of depth. You can easily read this in one sitting! But Cassie has hard time to resist the charm of her boss! And she finds a big secret about him. When Cassie worked as a camgirl for OnlyFans account to make extra money for school tuition, she fell for her customer she had several private sessions. Their sessions turned something more intimate and they decided to have a face to face meeting eventually. But her customer got cold feet and ghosted her. So she felt broken-hearted and deleted her account. Now she finds out the man she virtually felt so hard is the same man she’s ogling daily ! It’s her hot boss!The characters and side characters were wonderful and this book had some excellent banter that had me smiling and giggling the entire time. The same thing happened with Wanda. I loved her characterization and who she was and the dynamic that she brought to the story was next level. It felt like these two characters had more personality and depth to them than our two main characters combined. BUT if you're connecting more to secondary characters than the characters whose heads you have a front-row seat into...that's a problem. From the moment we met R'Jaal on the island and saw him making sad eyes because Marisol didn't resonate to him—I knew I was not going to get any rest until I saw him get happiness. It was a long wait, but boy was it worth it. Rosalind was everything R'Jaal needed, and R'Jaal is the definition of "it's always the quiet ones". (THANK GOD.) There was that staple translation error human between sweet baby R'Jaal and Rosalind (poor babies will just never understand slang) and the romance that blossomed between them was so sweet and scorching hot. From the moment we met R'Jaal on the island and saw him making sad eyes because Marisol did LISTEN I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR R'JAAL'S BOOK FOR EONS. First things first: From a reader’s perspective, it looked like Aiden was having a parasocial relationship with “Cici”, and the author and everybody in the book thought that was totally fine. I couldn’t find a single way to make any of it okay in my head. I thought all of the online interactions (which are all purely sexual) interspersed throughout the book made Aiden sound like an absolute creep, knowing he was trying to meet her in real life. By the time the story EVEN BEGINS, Cassie’s webcamming days are long behind her, which made me wonder why make it a major fixture of the plot in the first place? Smart, fun, sexy, and sizzling with romantic tension, The Nanny is a mouth-wateringly delicious take on second chances with a healthy dash of steam. I can't wait for more from Lana Ferguson! * Sara Desai, author of The Singles Table * The book was dual POV, but mainly centered around Cassie’s narrative. When Aiden’s sections begin, the tension is through the roof because they’re so strategically and sparingly placed. I haven’t seen many books with an imbalance like that and god I adore it. Before nearly every chapter, there were sections from their OnlyFans conversations that WORKED SO WELL. I’m normally not a fan of fillers like that but sweet baby Guy Fieri I’ve been taken to FLAVOR TOWN.

What else is there to say? I loved this book. I devoured it. I would've finished it in one sitting if I didn't have to go to bed early because it's Sunday. The Nanny is sweet, beautifully sexy, and Aiden is the single Zaddy you want in your life. Among Cassie assuming her new role as a nanny, I really loved the relationship she formed with Sophie. Sophie was initially hesitant and wary of Cassie, but through Cassie’s kind ways, she was able to get Sophie to open out and find comfort in someone. Sophie seemed like a great kid, and the way she was feeling with her dad always working, she felt like she didn’t have any one to open up to, but thankfully with Cassie, she found a friend in her which was really heart warming to see. Even early on in the story, it was evident that Cassie cared a lot about Sophie, as well as Aiden, and their overall wellbeing. Cassie might have taken on the job of being a nanny as a way of rescuing herself from financial burdens, but she found herself growing close to both Sophie and Aiden. Aiden Reid, executive chef and DILF extraordinaire, is far from the stuffy single dad Cassie was imagining. Cassie is a 25-year-old in her third year of Grad School for Occupational Health. After losing her job as a therapy assistant in a Children's Hospital and having to downsize her living expenses, she is seeking a job to balance her schoolwork. This was the first half of the book: They would have an awkward conversation where one of them says something really unprofessional, they would avoid each other for a bit, and then "accidentally" bump into each other in the kitchen to have another weird conversation that would end awkward, and then they'd repeat the cycle. I'm not even kidding this happened a minimum of 3 times! And then the second half was just sex, no plot (not that the first half had much plot anyway). The worst part was they were so BORING! There was no chemistry between them, besides the fact that they thought each other was hot, so I just didn't care. They had no personality except that Diden was busy with work and Cassie had bad parents. But even that was underdeveloped because we hardly got any scenes of him at work (or literally doing anything other than coming home from a long day) even though it was a dual POV, and I swear we never even found out what Cassie's parents did, only that she moved out at 18. And don't even get me started on her Snapple facts... it was giving the same energy as the Ellen letters from It Ends with Us 🤦🏼‍♀️

Would highly recommend if you are looking for a spicy and sweet read with a single dad and some hot sneaking around 🤭 Nothing exciting happened in the story besides Cassie and Aiden’s romance, but I need more than just a romance plot to keep me interested. So I started skimming around 30% because both characters would drone on with internal dialogue about their attraction to the other or just describe the day. It was boring writing unless the MCs were interacting directly, so the story as a whole was underwhelming.
