If you have Medium/ Wide feet - go up 1/2 size on your SHOE size (to allow for thicker socks with boots). Brush in Leder-Gris® Xtreme when the boots are ALMOST dry, use the brush to drive the wax-oil INTO the leather, ALWAYS treat with Leder-Gris® before storage.

Leder-Gris original is suitable for all types of footwear used in average UK conditions and will not significantly soften leather. After application, brush lightly with a buffing brush to ensure stitching and flex areas are fully coated.If you’re looking for other colours or repair treatments, check our full range of Leder Gris wax and keep your army boots looking their best. Apply with a ‘putting on’ brush and buff vigorously into the surface of the leather, pay special attention to putting Leder-Gris into seams and areas where the boot flexes. The oil goes deeper into the leather and helps to maintain the leather's suppleness by replacing leather oils lost during the drying out process. The ideal way to treat your boots with Leder-Gris is to brush the wax-oil into almost dry boots - having the boots almost dry aids how the wax oil soaks into the leather. In the early nineties I started to become unhappy with the water absorbency of the leather we were using on our gamekeeper boots - we were using a WR100 leather (when WR100 leather is flexed in water for 100 minutes and it must not absorb more than 6% of its weight in moisture).is traditionally formulated from waxes and synthetic oils for use on all modern water repellent leathers - used on most makes of high quality military/hiking/police boots and shoes. I took the leather and boots to the Pittards Tannery laboratory in Leeds and they quickly identified the problem - it was not the leather - but the leather treatment!
