About this deal

Let's look at the technical features of the Adidas Boston 8, then we describe the main developments with respect to the previous model, then we will discuss the impact on the race. Adidas Adizero Boston 8 is characterized by an arched shape and a sleek fit. They are surprisingly wider than we remembered and in fact the model 9 goes well to my partner Andrea, although he usually wears US 9.5. No doubt they are quite wide, for those who should use them in the race, perhaps half fewer could be recommended. For those who think of using them for long training sessions, we suggest buying the usual number. When worn, the feeling of a comfortable shoe and a good cushioning. But as with all things it is always a matter of context: is it really a cushioned shoe? well, compared to Ultra Boost 19, certainly not. But if you compare it with the new Adidas Adios 4, surely yes. Weight Looks-wise, the Boston 8 contours the foot to make the shoe look like a missile. Sometimes looking fast is the second best thing to being fast. That’s what my middle school gym teacher told me, anyway. Appearance aside, the upper fit well and I had no heel slip even though I was sent a pair that is a half size larger than my normal size. The thin attached tongue and the lightly padded collar added the right amount of comfort without being puffy or cumbersome.

The Boston 8 maintains its standing as one of the rare shoes that feel fast during a 5k and reliable enough to eat up the daily miles. Grippy and hard-wearing Continental rubber Continental sole: the layout has changed slightly, especially for the Torsion system, see below for details. From what emerges from Adidas, the choice was made to allow an improvement in the grip on the ground. We applaud the choice, thinking that it was already a strength of this model. While it wasn’t an ice box, no shoe is going to feel cool in those temps. All that to say, it got me through an 11-mile run feeling no worse than any other shoe.

The Adidas Boston Boost 5 was a nearly perfect shoe for me: lightweight, durable, springy, and smooth. I bought multiple pairs and used them for all types of running: long runs, trails, workouts, daily training, and races. In the front, the design remains very similar to the previous one, but it is evident both visually and when worn that the front space has increased, certainly a good way to increase the number of fans of the shoe, but like any change not everyone will be happy: Adidas may have done this to help with the flow of the shoe, but I have not found it to affect the feel. The outsole is still incredibly durable and grips well on wet, dry, pavement, and gravel. The upper is an improvement too. On the surface, the knitted-mesh upper looks like it would be warm. There aren’t any large pores on the upper to vent heat, but it did a decent job with the Coolever mesh lining in extremely hot (90º F with 85% humidity) running conditions. Instead the compression molded EVA insole was developed directly by Adidas and similar to that of last year's model. In the central part we will find a large orange writing to indicate the presence of «Boost» technology:

As for the torsion system present in the midfoot, it has been updated including a greater amount of Boost in the central part and the presence of rubber in the outer middle part, which will further improve the stability of the shoe. Between us, it will not affect the behavior of the race much, if not marginally: Then finally it was a half marathon training run, where their were steady miles completed. The good news is that there was no bad news, yes the lacing was still there, but that could be personal preference, and the shoe didn't feel as flexible but again this could be bedding in, and no doubt will feel more comfortable after putting more miles in. A few years ago Adidas developed a long-term partnership with Continental for a sole with the best grip ever for road racing. Even with the Boston 8, not much has changed compared to the usual design, with a generous presence of rubber and the Continental writing on the front, the exposed Boost with braided rubber. All quality components. Of course those who will be able to analyze the central part of the sole will find a variation of the design: Adidas has again tweaked the torsion system to improve stability. This system is very similar to the 7 with a slight change in its layout making it wider and longer. This also allows for a bit more boost in the center.Bubbles’ body jolted. Could it be?
