This kimono style cardigan has a casual chic look and feels super soft on the skin! Gives you such a fine touch even with simple jeans! Knit in pieces and sewn together, it is a lovely easy knit project that uses a few basic shaping techniques (really simple)! I love the style of this one. Unlike most of the other DIY kimonos on this list, it’s perfect for a bit of colder weather too. The pattern isn’t free but I’m including it just in case you love the style and want to make it! Sizes Bust/Hips 32 36 40 44 48 52 56 in The book is well-structured in Introduction, Kimono Basics, Design Your Own Kimono, Glossary, Resources, Bibliography and Index. Advice on adapting the designs and patterns / yarns to your own liking is also provided and is easy to follow. The drawings of the patterns are clear and easy to understand and enlarge, sizes given in inch and cm.

I had to include something for the crocheters out there! This crochet kimono looks fantastic and could be done in so many different colors to suit different outfits. Again, there are a lot of variables depending on the complexity of the design and the speed of the knitter. Place panels vertically on a large, flat surface parallel to one another with wrong sides facing up. With your tapestry needle and length of yarn, seam up the center from the bottom up. The seam will be on the side with the Basalt color and Garter Ridge stitch pattern. Seam until you are 2” from the center point.
