For the one in the image you will need 30 pieces of square paper but there are other types of assembly with less or more pieces. You will need two sheets of origami paper; a green sheet for the leaves and a brown one for the stem. Keep in mind that this design is an intermediate-level project, so if you've never folded origami before, you might want to try your hand at one of the easier projects before tackling this 3D model. The word Origami is a Japanese word – 折り, which is the combination of the words Ori 折り – to fold and Kami 紙 – which means paper. The tree is quite complex to make so your little ones will be needing your help and plenty of patience. What’s really special is that the cranes have wishes inscribed on them: wishes sent from all over the world.
