About this deal

Cloves, cardamon, vanilla - it is there indeed- but the heliotrope stands out so beautifully, no other perfume I know can make this tiny violet flowers truly shine. As it develops, the clove comes forward, and its presence brings with it the mango, mandarin, and ylang-ylang. Makes me think of a dreamy fall day at a pumpkin patch with your best friend, running through a corn maze and drinking hot cider while sitting on a haystack.

These days, I get a fascinating mix of cinnamon-camphor warmth (reminiscent of Tiger Balm), nutty cardamom, creamy tropical florals, and milky vanilla. Twelve hours later, I still smell Jungle L'Elephant, although it has calmed down to a lovely warm scent. The fragrance is a mix of spicy clove and sweet licorice, I was surprised that cinnamon isn't listed. Then, it didn't exactly change character, but it grew into a lush and slightly fruity warm spicy-- much less clove and very little patchouli, but more of a perfectly balanced cinnamon, cardamom and fragile mango scent.On me it smells like someone spilled vinegar over me and then dropped the contents of their spice cabinet on top.

It's a scent that has a quality that not many scents have, no matter how good I think they smell, or how they check all my boxes for uniqueness, longevity, strength, projection, and sillage—this feels like it suits me, it smells like a "me" type scent. If i could describe, Jungle L'Elephant is giving imagination journey to exotic places like Thailand where you can smell the essence of exotic plants and fruit with touch of incense. In fact I was so convinced that I discarded it and procured a different sample from a different source. The heart unites ylang-ylang, licorice, mango and heliotrope, while the base wraps it all with patchouli, vanilla, amber and cashmere, which create intense and sensual trace. If you want a beautiful spicy floral scent that will get you in the mood for Christmas look no further than Kenzo Jungle Elephant!

There is also, as someone else mentioned, this very slight medicinal quality in it that could have been disastrous had it been overdone. Whole Lotto Ylang-Ylang, but more: like i'm in --yes-- a jungle, but down on the forest floor with my nose under a tree root where someone stashed their spice collection. It might be emphasized by a patchouli, which is reminiscent of that one in Maison Margiela: Autumn Vibes - you feel the smell of wet fallen leaves, very nostalgic.

There's a sweetness that does not remind me of sweet as in sugary sweet but, more of a saccharine sweetness. Note: It didn't irritate my skin at all as another reviewer said (and my skin is pretty sensitive) and I can't imagine it not projecting as someone else claimed. It truly is spicy, especially at the beginning the spices may even seem harsh, I would say the cardamon and cumin are very noticeable.I can pick out most of the notes, it is a beautiful blend, and the dry down still has a pretty unique smell. I was also very disappointed with the lasting power since it's hyped up as extremely long lasting but it doesn't stay especially well on my skin. It dries down after several hours, with traces written in your personal bubble, a sillage that haunts, and a creamy, earthy, lived-in base, attributed to a synergy between an amber accord and patchouli. Top notes are Cloves, Cumin and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Cardamom, Caraway, Licorice, Mango, Ylang-Ylang, Heliotrope and Gardenia; base notes are Vanilla, Amber and Patchouli.
