Do not expect a text that has been polished to a high gloss for the book market. This book has clearly been minimally edited. It's more like having a series of two hour lunches with Suzie than reading an autobiography. That's fine if you can take it that way. Attention; to all serious readers of Western Action fiction with more than a pinch of romance sprinkled in.

Duane Boehm grew up on a farm outside of Petersburg, Illinois. All the time spent driving a tractor gave him plenty of opportunity to let his imagination run wild and not tear up too much equipment. The two passions he developed early in life were the love of playing guitar and reading books. Definitely five stars worthy as Mr. Boehm's outstanding descriptive storylines successfully depicts realistic adventures that immediately touches anyone's heartstrings as Sammy begins overcoming his alcohol problem, after getting information his Dad was murdered! Some of the most endearing selections of characters certainly adds up to one outstandingly episode after the other. Sammy is overwhelmed when he finds his Dad was poisoned by a local business owner, Victor Harbor, who was trying to take over his local enterprises! Too, Sammy becomes infatuated with this businessman's secretary, leading to further conflicts! Harbor has a hired gunman, Edward Lee, and the useless son Never a dull moment. Couldn't put this book down. I never get enough of your writing. I am always sad when I finish one of your books because I'm afraid I will not find another one as good!! Keep up the good work, I love your books!!! Her narrative of her abusive marriage is told in spare, conversational episodes. I cannot believe she put up with it for as long as she did - I put up with such a relationship for three years, and although she doesn't make the math clear, it must add up to more than fifteen years that she lived that life. You can't escape the feeling that if her husband hadn't developed advanced fatal cancer he might have actually killed her at some point. The one time she actually called the police, when he was ranting and raving and throwing her belongings out of the house, the sheriff told her, yes ma'am I hear you that he has guns in the house - if we come up there one of the two of you will be going to jail, which one will it be? I find that incomprehensible and it's no wonder more women are victims of domestic violence than ever.At times I was saying ‘get out of this, leave him’ but that would not have been the right thing for you I think. I too had parents who loved each other and brought us up to understand that we are all human beings with faults and goodness. You found that goodness in Rob and respected it. A married woman running from her past helped him find it. I've always thought this tune was very pretty yet haunting. Now since I have seen and heard the lyrics to it, it's even more haunting and melancholy than ever. I guess because of the untimely and tragic accident and death of Eric Fleming so soon after the series ended. What makes it even more haunting to me is it was EF that did most of the voice over narrations in those early episodes. But I have always wondered about the tune as only song anyone mentions is the Rawhide theme song. So thanks for having posted this.

As a dedicated fan of The Repair Shop show on BBC, I find all the experts not only skilled but also friendly and appealing. I realize that could just be a TV persona; but I also think they were selected to be on the show because they had a personality they could project to the cameras and the viewers, so I don't feel too silly actually liking these people.Suzie Fletcher makes allusions on and off on the show to having lived and worked in the US, so it was clear there was a tale there, and this is it. Definitely one of Mr. Boehm's best books so have had he opportunity to follow, as Sammy is called home to find his Mother on her death bed. Then he is approached by a an local ruthless business man, who wants to buy the family enterprises! Sammy is an alcoholic, who has resigned himself to a life of failures a local Sheriff manages to get him situated enough to make a return to to his home town. The the fun begins.
