Eternal Flame might be the most optimistic and violence-free story set in the Witcherverse. It's mostly focused on finding out who, how and why a halfling trader was robbed, instead of a climatic confrontation with some creature. The "monster-of-the-week" is intelligent and compassionate, with no intention of hurting anyone. The centre set, worn by the Titan, is most reminiscent of The Witcher and protagonist Geralt in particular. It’s been a while since I’ve indulged in some sword and sorcery, and I’m happy to have come upon a trailer of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” on Youtube. It’s visually stunning and highly fascinating! I wanted to learn more about the game and, to cut this story short (I guess you know where this is going anyway), discovered Andrzej Sapkowski’s written wonders. I’m sure the games are awesome, but I’m quite glad that I can immerse myself in "The Witcher" universe through my preferred medium. The Bounds of Reason. A deconstruction of dragon-slaying epics. Our Dragons Are Different is prominent.On the whole, I mostly enjoyed each story immensely. Although the writing felt repetitive at times, I still found myself engaged in seeing each scene unfold. If you’re expecting lyrical descriptive prose here, you won’t find it. Let’s not forget though that this is a translation, and within the nature of that, nuances, meaning and general flow can be lost. Or this could be a trait of Polish/Eastern European fantasy stories, and therefore I appreciated the simplistic style, it was quite soothing. I did find that some of the stories lost their momentum during the middle section, they felt too long, but I absolutely loved how each story ended on little twists that really brought the narrative together. My favourite story was ‘Sword of Destiny’, which finally introduced Ciri’s character! I’d heard a lot about Ciri from fans of the game, so I was eagerly anticipating her arrival. She didn’t disappoint, I loved her fiery but innocent temperament, and I can’t wait to see her story arc develop in future books. And, of course, Geralt and Yennefer. Even if human by birth, they both became something quite different, and in-universe no one would consider Geralt human anymore. Screw Destiny: Geralt refuses to lay any claim on the surprise child he is destined for because he does not want to believe in destiny, even though it's clear he really does want a child. Worst thing is, I really really loved Ciri, and I think she is everything this series needed. We'll see about that. It's a shame her chapters were so weak. Go to your game directory and place the folder in \The Witcher 3\Mods\ (if it doesn't exist, make one)

I found Sword of Destiny to be more of a light-hearted romp than The Last Wish, particularly in the stories that predominantly involved Dandelion. Now this wasn’t a negative aspect, but it did take me a while to adjust to. Dandelion is a wonderfully amusing character; he’s your typical ‘cheeky chappie’ with his openly lewd behaviour towards women and his constant bragging of how great a poet he is! I found myself highly entertained by the contrast between Geralt’s more dry and stoic nature, and Dandelion’s brazenness. They had some excellent banter between them, and my love for banter never ceases! I also appreciated that Dandelion served as Geralt’s one true friend, which was warming. The Last Wish” and “The Sword of Destiny” are each a collection of short, inter-connected stories that read very much like a character study. A study of the witcher, Geralt of Rivia, and his tormented relationship with the concept of destiny. The stories are nonlinear, but the links are easy to follow, and not every story turns out the way you might think or expect. Like the original book, Sword of Destiny is a collection of six novellas (minus a Framing Device) that continue the trend of merrily deconstructing your favorite fairy tales, though the motif of You Can't Fight Fate comes across even stronger.Ultimately, Eithné allows Ciri to choose her own fate and Ciri chooses the witcher. The queen also decides to spare Freixenet on the basis that he is an acquaintance of Geralt and that he did not have the intention of hunting dryads when he trespassed into the forest. After all, dryads still need males to make new dryads, so it seems that the large man will become a stud. I’m riding with them because I’m a servile golem. Because I’m a wisp of oakum blown by the wind along the highway. Tell me, where should I go? And for what? At least here some people have gathered with whom I have something to talk about. People who don’t break off their conversations when I approach. People who, though they may not like me, say it to my face, and don’t throw stones from behind a fence. I’m riding with them for the same reason I rode with you to the log drivers’ inn. Because it’s all the same to me. I don’t have a goal to head towards. I don’t have a destination at the end of the road.’ Cat Like Dragons: Villentretenmerth is described as having something graceful and feline in the way he sits. Geralt can be funny on his own, but it’s a different kind of humor. More of a dry humor that comes from people underestimating him or acting like they’re better than him. I enjoy it, but not as much as when Dandelion is around. A good translation for these Andrzej Sapkowski novels I won’t be discussing each story alone here but I am gonna say what is the common thing I liked about all of them and what could have been better! I like Geralt and Yen and Dandelion, I feel it is easy to connect to their stories wherever the setting is. I think the plot lines were interesting but I felt that most of the endings were rushed somehow, I mean I enjoy the build up but usually the end result is unsatisfactory and the story ends with the shortest chapter!
