There is internal and external recording at 4:2:2 10-bit, whereas the A7S II does 8-bit 4:2:0 on the SD card, or 8-bit 4:2:2 via HDMI output.

Unlike what we’ve seen many times in the past, the company didn’t introduce a new “world’s first” feature but rather took the necessary time to craft a camera that seems to respond to user requests from the last five years. but this is more with video and maybe because there is better in camera noise reduction, not better sensitivity since they both have the same exact sensor. Despite the upgrade, the Max ISO of 409,600 is still absolutely awful and if you had purchased this camera with the intention of being able to film in rooms with almost absolutely no light, the A7S III won’t offer any improvement for you.This newest Pocket model features a camera with a larger Type 1 sensor and a 2-inch rotatable touchscreen for vertical or horizontal framing.

It also has improved Auto White Balance under artificial light sources thanks to a “Visible Light + IR” sensor. Compensation for five types of camera shake that can blur stills/movies shot handheld matches the camera's great sensitivity so you can use more shutter speed/ISO/aperture settings.The battery life will be much longer if you use a manual lens and disable the screen, using only the viewfinder (which will shut down whenever your eye is away).
