About this deal

Ed and James on the Off Menu podcast are my absolute favourites to listen to and this book just felt like an extension of that type of love for food that I admire. For Arthur Dent, who has only just had his house demolished that morning, this seems already to be more than he can cope with.

Ed Gamble is not my fav comedian although I love him as a podcast host (Off Menu and Taskmaster), but as I got into his stories I think I found this book to be more about a man trying his best. It does get a little bit repetitive, but there’s enough funny anecdotes sprinkled in that it’s forgivable.

When Billy can’t find the informant, he wonders if Kate is secretly harboring her, since the two grew close during Kate's weeks undercover.There also seemed to be this consistent need to make everything 'funny' which obviously had the opposite effect; saturated with jokes the book ends up losing something. Particularly loved the part he highlighted about loving being a fat person and how no-one in society is in a position to judge anyone for being fat. This grossly oversimplified understanding has created many complexities in our lives and taken away from us the very fundamentals of the joy of living. I love anything food wise, cooking, eating, restaurants, cooking shows and also reading about other food fanatics.

New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money. I don't know, there were funny parts, the Guinness chapter was good, but for some reason it just fell a bit flat for me.

Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths.

Pretty funny, but benefits if you’ve seen Ed Gamble’s standup beforehand or are familiar with his work on various British panel shows (e. From the trials of being a diabetic with a sweet tooth to his teenage battles with obesity, to the joy of cooking and the power of food to bring us together, this is a wonderful, hilarious and heart-warming memoir of a delightful obsession. I’ll admit it’s a book hugely targeted for foodies as ed never endlessly talks his love and passion for food as well as his struggles with diabetes, his weight transition, his relationship with alcohol and many more.Ed’s story gives me hope that one day I might also find a healthier future by exercising moderation and rediscover my jawline.
