Well, the contract between the NBA and Spalding ended, and they “ could not agree on terms” for a new deal (i.e. money 🤑). The Hornets temporarily moved to Oklahoma City in 2005 for two seasons because of damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. The team returned to New Orleans in 2007.
