His work in coffee has extended to roasting, training and consultancy work, as well as developing coffee equipment for the specialty market and beyond. It just didn't have a complex enough plot for me, and it's really obvious what is going to happen in the book before it happens. This is great if you want a quick overview of the industry (even though it has developed since the book was published) and want to understand a bit more about how it has developed. Their philosophies of 'working out your why' at the outset and creating a 'guest avatar' have given me real clarity and focus at my early stage of planning and writing a business plan. So the characters in this story can time travel but only to the relatively recent past and they have to sit in a specific seat at a specific table - which they can’t leave once they time travel, which means they can’t leave the cafe - and only for the duration it takes for a coffee to cool, after which you have to drink it down or else risk turning into a ghost forever burdened to haunt the cafe. There were plot points I wanted to read more about that kind of disappeared or brought to an end with a single sentence.But beyond the surface, there were a lot of relatably resonating themes that made Legends and Lattes so precious. From cutting-edge newcomers to hidden gems, the cafés included in this book represent the best of London's flourishing coffee culture.
