I never purchased anything from Aiwa before but definitely would from the quality of sound from this speaker. If you have NFC (meaning almost everybody except Apple), there is a labeled touch spot on the top of the speaker. The Aiwa Exos-9 is a portable Bluetooth speaker, or "Boombox" in the sense that it can be carried by a built-in handle at the back (albeit awkwardly, banked at a 45° angle), and operated on a rechargeable, swappable battery. While I’m not personally the biggest fan of this particular design from an aesthetic point of view, I can appreciate the versatility that Aiwa has created by designing this speaker so that it doesn’t look out of place indoors or outdoors.

I like peeking inside and taking a look at what components lurk there, and the quality of those components. Aiwa has done an excellent job of matching the amp to the speakers producing excellent audio at all volumes. You should keep in mind that the speaker has a beautiful bass, but also has very good punch and dynamics, and although you won’t be able to ever take it for a trip in the park, you will be able to turn virtually any room into a true dance hall, the volume is really good, and this comes from someone who likes to listen pretty loud. It will also provide a beautiful bass, and I have fallen in love with the bass more than anything from its sound.

When it comes to the design of the Aiwa Exos 9, we haven’t come across anything quite like it before. Safe to say, I can tell you I've been through this process, as I've had my second unit since mid 2019, and it was because of some capacitor shorting out in the Bluetooth module on my first unit. Having two midrange drivers also provides something of a wide, space-y sound, but it won’t be fully stereo, unless you will be standing very far from the speaker, and somehow right in front of it, leaving enough space for a bit of a soundstage to shape up.
