Details are still thin on the ground, but we look forward to testing the system later in the year. Any improvement on this already-excellent feature is surely welcome. Android TV 11 and DTS Play-Fi Philips is still using Android TV without Google TV on top. There is no word on whether Google TV will come to OLED807 but Philips is planning to provide Android upgrades in the future which is one area where Android TV differs from a Smart TV based on, for example, webOS and Tizen as these do no get OS upgrades after the sale. It's also worth noting that all of the firm's 2022 Ambilight TVs continue to offer the full range of HDR formats, so that's Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10 and HDR10+ (including HDR10+ Adaptive). My guess is that the TV cannot handle it therefore all the Android app even Kodi are not working great with this codec. The only slight flaw with the OLED806’s delivery of Interstellar is that it doesn’t suppress the film grain in the way that some other TVs do, even when noise reduction is switched on. One could easily argue, though, that the film grain is part of the presentation, and it’s certainly not something that we find off-putting. The EX-inspired extra brightness also helps the OLED807 be less prone in its out-of-the-box state to losing subtle details in very dark scenes/areas.Information about the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical side of the screen. The 6707 only comes in one size: 39 inches. There's no Ambilight system and smarts are provided by Android TV 10 rather than Android TV 11. Still, this could be a good option for a guest room or an office... if the price is right. Having once viewed external arbiters of picture quality with suspicion, Philips now seems prepared to embrace as many third-party interests as it can. So as well as the officially approved Dolby Vision and HDR10+ codec support already mentioned, the OLED807 carries the UHD Alliance’s accuracy-focused Filmmaker Mode, as well as an IMAX Enhanced mode. Gaming is supported by two HDMI 2.1 ports (in addition to two HDMI 2.0 ports), with support for 4K 120Hz and Variable Refresh Rate, plus Auto Low Latency Mode so it switches to its Game Mode when you fire up a console.

The moments where colour does become a little too aggressive are much less common in the latest Crystal Clear mode than they were in the previous similar Vivid mode, making it a much more usable preset right off the bat. In fact, it’s the picture preset Philips itself most wants you to use, as it gets the most benefit from all the image processing enhancements included within the P5 engine. The extra brightness of the EX panel doesn’t just boost the TV’s contrast and sense of HDR ‘punch’, either. Expertly marshalled by the P5 processor, it also injects even more life into Philips’ already luxuriously rich and vibrant colour palette. Bold, heavily saturated tones look explosively intense, yet such is Philips’ mastery of its colour management that apart from one or two rare over-the-top moments with the new Crystal Clear preset, the colour intensity is always matched by excellent tonal subtlety and definition. As a result, even the most richly coloured objects don’t look flattened or forced. That’s a lot more effort than you have to make to get the best out of most modern OLEDs, but it’s an effort that’s well worth making. As the camera pans across the family farm at the start of Interstellar, individual stalks of corn are distinguishable in the huge field. There’s nuanced variety to the greens in this field, which are different shades to those in the adjacent lawn. Less well sorted TVs would have you believe that they’re practically the same colour. The set’s mid-range is wide and dynamic enough to deliver even dense action scenes with authority and conviction, easily avoiding the thin, hemmed in feel you get with big movie moments on so many TVs. The power and dynamic range that delivers this impressive mid-range performance also contributes to excellent detailing; a nicely projected sound stage that seems to exist well beyond the edges of the screen; and convincing, clear vocals.
