While Billy and Jenna were a sweet story of rekindling romance, my love is still burning bright for Billy's older brother, Galen, sorry Billy 😚 and yes, both Cooper brothers make appearances, along with some other Lake Bittersweet fan favorites. Feeling empty and searching for a deeper meaning in life, spoiled rich boy Christopher Miles decides to take a year away from his CEO lifestyle to travel around the world. I don’t even know where to start with this, because this book was *literal perfection*. I felt alllll the emotions: I laughed so hard I snorted, I was frustrated at the real life scenarios Christopher and Hayden found themselves in, and I teared up as they made their way to their HEA.Unfortunately, this was a very generous three star from me. The Takeover is one of my favorite books and that magic is hard to capture twice but I do not believe that Tristian Miles would ever have punched a door while screaming at his crying girlfriend to come out of the room she was hiding from him in. Christopher Miles though. What are you doing?

The guy was kind of an enigma. I’d never seen him around outside of school, and he didn’t really have a clique or friend group that I was aware of. Even though we were juniors, I still didn’t have enough information to figure out how to classify him. In this riotous young adult romp for fans of Recommended for You and A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow , a teen girl has the worst Valentine’s Day ever—only to relive it over and over again. What I loved: This is such a delightful story about romance and being true to yourself/standing up for yourself. Emilie has often taken the quiet and peacemaker route, particularly since her parents' contentious divorce has often left her in the middle. It has gotten to the place where they barely seem to think about her at all. She is determined to have her own life (particularly romantic life) be full of better choices, and so, she only dates people who meet her very particular set of criteria - which her current boyfriend does. Ultimately, she learns to find some middle ground between good on paper and all passion, and it's just lovely.Well, let me tell you, Christopher Miles is the prince of one liners and such an endearing character and you’re going to love him. The infantilization of the Spaniard Eddie was….gross. To set the scene, Eddie is a 14 year old bartender. Obviously, to be working at age 14 means that you’re likely in a position where you need to take care of someone. Per Eddie, this someone is his grandmother. Regardless of his financial status, Eddie is quite the character, speaking numerous languages and being very street smart. Like many people when they travel, Christopher and Hayden treated Eddie like he was a toddler, rather than an actual person (ie: a teenager). To put this even further into perspective, Eddie is only 3 years younger than Christopher’s nephew. Would they have spoken to Harry that way? Absolutely not, but because Eddie is young and speaks a different language suddenly they find it OK to treat him like a child. I found this entire plot line to be very unrealistic, which is ironic because I’m reading a billionaire romance. I had a hard time with the mc's personal growth and his tantrums, the end felt a bit rushed in terms of his character development, like I kept waiting for more.
