In 2010, the United States Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in theNational Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will celebrate the 50th anniversary of William Friedkin's classic film The Exorcist (1973) with a brand new 4K Blu-ray edition, which is scheduled to arrive on the market this Fall.
