About this deal

As the Twin-Tailed Comet reached its perigee, outriders from the front line in the north brought news that another, grander horde of Chaos warriors from the Eastern Steppes were converging upon the Empire, a horde that far eclipsed those thus far encountered. Count Ludenhof's army, the largest Empire formation yet deployed Farther to the south-west, within the distant lands of Lustria in the New World, the massive jungle-realm of the Lizardmen empire, a new and deadly conflict was reignited after centuries of peace. Re-emerging from the bowels of the earth, the hordes of the Skaven's Clan Pestilens and all the temple-cities of the Lizardmen fought in one final apocalyptic war that ended in total annihilation.

These novels were authored by Graham McNeill and collected in omnibus in 2005 ( ISBN 9781844161997). But even within the lands of Malekith's birth, the island-continent of Ulthuan was engulfed in a time of peril and tragedy. A mist of dreadful power swept across the High Elves' beautiful land, summoning forth Daemons and other foul things from the very bowels of Chaos itself. With their beloved Everqueen gone and their proud Phoenix King dead, a young Asur prince, Tyrion, rose through the ranks to lead his people through this time of conflict, setting up a chain of events that forever tore that mighty kingdom apart. Quirky Miniboss Squad: The Return of Nagash spends a good part of its length following Manfred's vampire Templars, which are only mentioned as his elite cavalry unit elsewhere. There's an ambitious female power-behind-the-throne type, a thug she manipulated into power, a suicidally depressed newbie who's her former lover ( who she's still in love with), the old leader who has devolved into a near bestial state, and a character who's blatantly the Warhammer version of Count von Count, complete with purple skin. End Times: Glottkin ends with Archaon discussing his plans with Kairos Fateweaver who taunts him that it is not a mortal man he should be worried about; at this point several major characters who would oppose him are female, have become immortal, are undead, or any combination of the aforementioned categories, including his former nemesis Karl Franz.

Sword of Plot Advancement: The Widowmaker is central to the plot of End Times: Khaine. As the entire elven civilization goes to war and by this replays the old myths about the war between gods with Malekith as the unlikely Asuryan, Alarielle as Isha, and Tyrion as Khaine and whatnot, Tyrion is pushed to draw the Widowmaker, empowering him with the power of Khaine but also corrupting him. A good chunk of the entire war then revolves around how to handle the sword. Alternate Universe: The End Times that lead to Age of Sigmar is not the same universe as the one depicted in editions 5 through 7, nor the RPG, nor any books or games that came out in that period. All of them are quite explicitly set during or after the Storm of Chaos (a weaker attempt by Chaos to end the world that was repulsed), with a detailed timeline. See also Retcon. From all the artifacts needed for the ritual of the return of Nagash (all of which were made by him and belonged to him once; one is actually his severed hand), to the Fellblade that once killed him. A prime example is the Sword of Khaine, which is drawn by Tyrion during the start of the second phase of the Elven Civil War. I’ve primarily read the 40k book, but the Eisenhorn omnibus was also appealing to me. It has also been enjoyable to read two Horus Heresy books. Is it really worth reading the Time of Legends books? Best Warhammer Fantasy Books Fittingly, the fifth book is centered on Archaon, who also rides upon a horse and does indeed bring the apocalypse to the world.

These novels and short story were collected in omnibus in 2009 and with additional short stories in 2013 and 2019 ( ISBN 9781784969875). These storylines will take you from the ancient past up to roughly around the present day and you'll have a decent understanding of the big players.However, the daemonic hordes could not be defeated by conventional means like a mortal army, and they returned to the material world time and again. With the Winds of Magic blowing so strongly from the north, the power which anchored these daemons to the material realm persisted, eventually granting them enough time and strength to overcome even the hardiest of obstacles. The Kingdom of Chrace bore the brunt of the resultant war of attrition, resulting in Lion's March becoming nothing more than a massive graveyard, with fields of unburied bodies stretching as far as the eye could see, and the capital city of Tor Achare lying in ruins. [1d] The entire storyline was this. It was always at least possible for Chaos to be defeated, and it looks like the Incarnates are actually going to stop the destruction of the world. That is, until Mannfred kills Gelt. Combat by Champion: Despite the huge armies involved in these battles, a lot of fights feature major characters finding and dueling each other in the midst of the chaos.

Warhammer: The Curse of Khaine: A book that follows the events of the novel from Malekith's perspective and following his journey and the revelation of the greatest sin of the High Elves, and the end of a destiny six thousand years in the making.Shout out to the author Guy Haley. It's not often I come across an author of Warhammer novels that I haven't come across yet and it's always a case of is this guy going to be good or bad? And this guy was great, hope he has more to do with the franchise in the future. This book is like avengers assemble type thing on both sides. We got Nagash, Malekith the Everqueen, Tyrion, Sigmar, Angela Fleischer, Brunner the Bounty Hunter, Wulfrik the Wanderer, Valnir, Victor Goetz, Kairos Fateweaver, Thanquol, The Red Duke. The list goes on they all get a little screen time. Not just in it for a line or two but not enough to steal the show. It's great for those of us who gave read most of the Warhammer novels because I found myself thinking, I know this guy but from what book? Great job. As war loomed on the horizon, it was perhaps fitting that the first nations to feel the wrath of the Dark Gods were actually the ones who had first stood against them in the earliest years of the world's existence. On the massive island continent of Ulthuan, discontent ran rife amongst the noble courtiers of the Phoenix King. The Daughter of the Everqueen, Aliathra the Everchild, had been captured by the devious vampire, Mannfred von Carstein and taken to the nightmarish undead Fortress-City of Nagashizzar. The legendary warrior Prince Tyrion and his brother, the mighty sorcerer Loremaster Teclis, set out to rescue her. Though the brothers fought with great determination to save their beloved future Everqueen, Mannfred was no petty enemy, and was possessed of great guile and cunning. Despite the best efforts of Teclis and Tyrion, it soon became clear that Mannfred had vanished without a trace, and the disheartened brothers were forced to return to Ulthuan empty-handed. Worst it was for Tyrion, who guarded a secret close to his heart, unknown even to his sibling: he himself was secretly the true father of Aliathra. [1d] Detonation Moon: Clan Skryre uses a gigantic cannon blow up Morrslieb, causing mountain-sized chunks of pure Warpstone to rain on the planet. The Slann barely manage to keep the resulting cataclysm from destroying the entire world, but Lustria is wiped off the map.
